Sounds like customer service was correct. This only applies to the 2013 and newer trucks with a specific water pump. The older pumps were not part of the recall.
Genos garage sells 2 post recall water pumps. A gates pump and a cummins pump. Witch of the two would be the better pump. I'm going to change the pump that's on my truck, just trying to decide witch pump to order.
Gates most likely China Cummins is not but don't remember where???

The pumps Geno is calling Cummins are made by Concentric. It's misleading. If you zoom in close, you'll see the words Concentric on the pump they are calling cummins. To my knowledge, cummins doesn't make their own water pumps.

They have locations all over the world so it's hard to know where they are made till you get it in your hand
Concentric’s global manufacturing presence includes factories in Sweden, Germany, the UK, the USA, Argentina, India and China
How is calling a Cummins water pump a "Cummins water pump" misleading? It is a Cummins water pump.
Just because it does not say made by Concentric, Bosch or Continental in the description make it "misleading".
By the way. The replacement water pump for the 2013 and newer trucks is made in Italy.
On a lighter note. Happy New Years![]()
Parks, Take no offense. If it's made by gates you call it a Gates, if it's made by Concentric, you call it a Concentric but I am wrong about that particular pump, it comes directly from Cummins so that's why they call it that. It's not misleading, I was just wrong. Sorry. My mistake.[/QUOTE
You're still wrong. Cummins doesn't make water pumps for the 6.7. Concentric makes the pump for Cummins. Just like they make pumps for a lot of manufacturers. Just like TRW makes pistons for many manufacturers. Just like Bendix makes brakes for many manufacturers. And the list goes on. No major manufacturer makes all the parts in any engine or vehicle. That doesn't make those parts aftermarket. They're still oem.
