I'm telling you guys demand a gallon to take home!!! They did mine by the book but I still added 5/8 gallon of the 3/4 they gave me.

They had a different book than my dealer, who said they drive them 10 miles and then top it off again. Mine has been right at the tank seam(which appears to mid way) when I got it back and is still there after a couple thousand miles. SnoKing

I think he was agreeing that he ran out of water pump luck because he is low on coolant BEFORE having his defective water pump replaced. Or maybe his top radiator hose wye is leaking?

Seems like this new platform of TDR has lost our signatures?

Yes, that is what Dasmoeturhead said. May further support the fact that these pumps are failing at 60-75K miles.

They did drive mine 10 miles or so as the odo was different when I picked it up and they let it cycle also.

I feel like I won the lottery. Dropped off my 2015 MC CTD 4X4 AISIN 4.10's (not sure if signature is displayed) at the shop at 8am for the water pump, and t79 recall, and they called me back at 10 am saying it was ready. They even have me a loaner car.
Before I checked in I checked the fluid levels, and see if it was clean enough underneath the truck. Coolant level is 1/2" above the upper mark on the tank. There was some coolant on the diff cover and tie rods, but nothing I wasn't willing to hose off at home. When I was a Dodge Tech that would have never happened. Oh well!
When I went into the office to talk with the service writer and signing the work order, I noticed they charged FSA for 4 gallons of antifreeze. So my truck has a new pump, and some new OAT in it and she just ticked over 71,000 miles. The t79 was done or checked, and its G2G. new software update also gave the back up camera those red, yellow and, green lines to follow. Used to be just the picture. Anyway the 22 mile drive home proved uneventful thankfully. This letter comes with that recall after completed.

Over 1000 miles on mine since wp replacement, most of them towing, and the coolant level is still right on the money

Here's a good one:
My 2014 3500 has always had the purple (OAT) antifreeze (virgin out of the bottle is on the right).
I have always kept a bottle of it around since the first winter that the factory fill was low and lit the low coolant level. (p/n 68163848ab).
I even marked the overflow as OAT Purple so I didn't accidentally service it with anything else.
Move forward to having the water-pump recently changed on recall, next morning had a low coolant light and I topped it off with a half gallon OAT cuz apparently wasn't bled out very well.
Move forward again by a couple of weeks and I check the coolant level and notice the overflow color looks odd, so I pull a sample out of it and it appears to be Pink (HOAT) as indicated in the left bottle.
I took both to the service department and asked the advisors present what the difference was between the two bottles of coolant were and they stated "color".
I told them I was concerned my 3500 was serviced with the incorrect coolant on the recall, so they offered to take the bottles back to their diesel "guy" and brought them back and said "he" said that the color changes with age and they were the same.
Sorry folks, I don't believe this..... nothing has been done to this truck to allow this coolant to have aged to "pink" in the last coupla years.
Who the hell do I go to about this since this dealer is not interested in the implication they contaminated my cooling system?
I didn't argue with them. I just said Okay, and left.
OBTW this dealer does not have a good history with this truck, and has previously caused more wear and tear on my truck than I have...

Who do I call? I'm in the Salt Lake City Utah area......

I have yet to get mine done on the recall. I too live in the Salt Lake area. I won't try to tell what I have been thru just getting the inspection to verify I am on the recall. And I won't tell you to go to the Bountiful dealership, IMO they are the worst I have dealt with by far. I had some pretty good luck, and service with the one in Tremonton, while on a short trip . I am on their waiting list for the water pump. I am willing to drive 50 minutes ,other then 10 to my local dealer. Good luck, call another dealership ,and hope for the best .

If they drive my truck any further then into the service bay, I am going to be sitting in the truck with them. You are a trusting soul. They are not driving my truck off their lot.

I have been trying to get mine replaced while here in Pahrump NV, but they keep claiming they can't get any pumps in, so in another week we will leave for Alaska and hope all is well. It has lasted for 73000 miles so far so guess a few more won't hurt.

I would not head out to Alaska with the original pump, period! You are right in the mileage range of when they fail.

Find a dealer in Las Vegas that has one and drive over there. Or in Reno, as you head North.

Well, with that analogy ,I am only half way there. Talked to couple dealers recently, this is not an easy task to get done, its sounds like its pretty slow getting pumps now. Then you end up with one with a crappy service department , and things just get even slower. I wasted a month thinking I was on their waiting list, only to find out I was not.

When they get pumps, I have no idea, have been told a couple different stories.
