I didn't realize they were having that many problems with their fuel system. I'll gladly replace my lift pump for 150. 00 each. (not counting labor since I do it myself).

At the other site: Cowboy_120 said "I also heard that GM had sent out a bulliten essentially saying that we are now allowed to use additives in our gas. "

Maybe that's why the GM injectors are having problems

Doc

Um - gas ran through diesel injectors can't be good:rolleyes:.

I liked the last post I read that stated the Cummins with HPCR was doing great but the rest of the truck was a problem or something to that effect.

And the one about a Cummins in the Chevy would the perfect truck - NOT.

And may I say...

I am proud to be a member of this forum where we treat each other with respect. Some of their comments make me glad I am not part of that board. I prefer helpful and courteous as opposed to getting beat up by my peers!;)

And just to set the record straight... I have had no problems except for the lift pump and VP44... the rest of the truck is perfect! I love my Cummins and Dodge:) :D Oo.

Besides fuel system problems, some are starting to have head gasket problems as the miles rack up: Go figure!

For entertainment, the one calling out "BROKER" about his mileage is even better.

A friend of one of my dad's clients works for a large GM dealership. Said that the back lot is always full of D-max trucks that need repairs. Head gaskets and fuel related problems mostly.

Read somewhere once that one guy melted heads on 2 D-max trucks. Sounds like he needs a pyro BAD!

I work in a chevy dealer parts dept, we've probably only sold 10 or so duramax equipped trucks in the past year, and here's our problems so far

-replaced 3 Allisons, including the one on GM's own truck that they use to haul the GM performance parts trailer to events

-replaced 3 or 4 pedal assemblies due to the rheostat on the accelerator pedal going bad

-replaced transfer case/encoder motor/etc on a truck that was "banks'd out" driving down the road the truck decided it would shiftit self into 4 low...

-no injectors/pumps etc on d-max's yet, though TONS on 6. 5s...
