I've driven a few cars with "misters"...generally an extra windshield washer tank/pump and nozzles around edges of cooling stack. Some ran for a predetermined time and others as long as you held the momentary switch and had water. These were performance upgrades and could add more fuel to lowered IAT, but they should have the same effect for cooling?

As to the bucket of water every 25 miles idea. A RoadKill idea for sure here -> 2 gallon garden pump sprayer, cut wand after trigger (keep sprayer and trigger in-cab), run hose out to radiator, nozzle wire tied top center of radiator. When temps start to get too hot give a 20 second blast from the sprayer. At least you could preserve water and not have to stop every 25 miles or so. ;) FJB

Ha! I actually did that in 1973 for a subcompact car with marginal cooling. I was headed across the desert and wanted to handle those times when the temperature gauge approached the red zone. I bought a two-quart windshield washer kit that used a bag and a dashboard pump. I aimed the sprayer nozzles at the upper tank on the radiator, so the water would dribble down onto the tubes. The doggone Rube Goldberg setup actually worked. I just had to refill the water bag every 50 miles.

Replaced the clutch hydraulics today. The clutch has been getting harder to get in gear at a stop, especially when it warms up. Hope it is not the pilot bearing or clutch dust on the splines causing the disk to hang. This was the easiest, plus the old one was old. It still felt fine but....

Please post if it helps. I'm starting to have trouble getttinng into gear too.

It seemed to help some, but even cold, I wasn't satisfied, so I changed out the transmission oil for some Mobil 1 20w-50 Motorcycle oil, wet clutch formula with friction modifier. I am thinking the oil I am using is too slippery for the age/condition of the Syncros. Initial feel, is, it is way better. I will know more when I can get it warm, that's when it acted up the most.

FYI, Oil is going up in price just like fuel....this oil went up 75 cents, per quart, overnight.
