Here are some before and after temp numbers, not much of a test but interesting anyway.

Before numbers:

I just went on a quick 3 mile round trip to load my dump trailer, slow 1st gear road and let it idle while I unloaded. I checked temps on the system. The pump was 135*, hydro boost 135, lines 105 and the gear box was 114

After numbers:

Just hauled 3 loads of cinders, 20 mile round trip, 14 miles of slow county road pavement and 6 miles of slower dirt, ambient temps from 70-90, truck ECT was an average of 185. On my middle load with AC on, truck idling, the pump was 109, hydro 109, box 106, lines 105 and cooler 88. I tested the lines where the rubber meets the metal, about 6-8" from the hydro, I didn't test the lines at the box.

This is with 285/75x16 tires, stock aluminum wheels. This size has been on the truck since I bought it, in '03 with 34k miles, it now has 320k. The front end is all original, other than the brakes and shocks

Replaced the junky Mastercraft tires today with Hercules Terra Trac AT II's in the same size, 285/75x16E. Only 22K miles on the old ones, rated for 50K. I did get some prorated tread wear out of them. They weren't quite to the wear bars but on the roads I travel, I didn't want to go any longer. Nothing I hate worse than a flat tire or dead battery.

Replaced the Hercules Terra Trac's with another set. 33k miles on a 50k tire. Had a big ole fight with the dealer to get some tread wear warranty, talk about rude, arrogant and totally unacceptable behavior from the salesman and the store manager!! I kept my cool until the salesman said I would have to unhitch my dump trailer before he would install them, then I lost it and let them both have it, Lol.

I did finally get the prorated 17k miles that I was short, $350 credit:)

Replaced my head light assemblies again, first time were cheap john's. I broke an adjusting bracket on the right side and the left was full of water. Went with lifetime TYC this time. I almost bought a set local from O'Reilly but looked up Rock Auto and they were half the price, so my shop local went out the window:)

You could have always purchased the ones from O’Reilly Auto, installed them, then returned the ones you also bought from Rock Auto—-back to O’Reilly Auto when they came in. :D

Rotated my new tires today, 9-weeks, 6469 miles and 4/32's tread gone already:( They look good tho for oem front end parts, 364K miles.

Installed my new filter today, fits good. It didn't help my turbo whine tho, same as before. This new turbo is quiet:( The exhaust brake rumble might be just a tad louder.

Looks like my oem was working good, compressor wheel is still shinny. It was due tho, 1 year and 24k miles of a lot of dirt roads.

Dang, and here I was just feeling guilty about pushing my filter 3 years. From the looks of yours I could have run another 3 years :D

We don't get that kind of dust here, ever. It doesn't stop raining long enough o_O

Notice the weight of each, in oz

Welp, that lasted quick. Down on boost and up on EGT's. What the heck? Bad filter? So, it went back in the box on the shelf for the dually and the '01 gets a new filter and old air box. I made sure the elbow was not restricted in any way, yet? Some times ya just gotta use oem:D

Who makes that filter? I never had those issues with my Donaldson.

Napa/Wix, I am at a loss. I have made that same haul with the same loads many times and never does the truck defuel. It is a tough pull from a stop but not to the point of defueling. I have it set for 1350 degrees, I was just getting a good start and the truck hit a brick wall, glanced over at my monitor and I was at 1350.

After that, I started watching my boost at max power and only 32psi, should be 36.

It would be interesting to see how much it pulls a filter minder down. I drilled a hole in the end of mine with a hole saw that was (I think) 1/8" smaller than the barb on the minder. The material on the end of the filter was almost spongy like and fit very snug.
I could never get that minder to move. It is odd that filter appears to be so restrictive. It looks like it has alot more surface area than the OEM.

On my 98 12V I tried an AMZ/OIL oval/conical dry filter. Power seemed down towing so I popped the hood and it was so restrictive it had caved in.
Probably filtered down to .005 microns but sure didn’t have any flow.

Going on the same haul with the same load today, I will watch my gauges real close and compare. Makes me mad when I spend good money on an upgrade and it is not:D

Installed the Mopar 52122362AL t-steering linkage kit on the '01. I have been reading about them for years and wasn't sure about the fit and drivability. I see articles both ways. After driving the new truck and getting into the old one, I couldn't keep it on the road:D I have always had to drive it, no sight seeing with it, but since the tires never wear, I hated to fix what wasn't broke.

It was a direct fit, no mods at all. I did have to get an '08-'12 steering stabilizer but it was a direct fit also. I do have a slightly cocked steering wheel but I am out of adjustment. I should have taken the tie rod off and ground a little off the threaded end, they touch each other at the clamp sleeve. If it bugs me, I can still do that.

After a quick drive to town to pickup the stabilizer, I should have done it sooner, nice!
