The door sticker reflects the weight of the truck as it was shipped from Saltillo by FCA.

Do they?

I’ve never looked that close at mine, but I always I understood them to be generic based on the same figures as the base weight in the charts.

Perhaps others can chime in with pics of their door stickers.

Perhaps you can see how closely yours matches the towing chart base weight.

Since the pic I posted was from my 2014, it was not subject to the SAE method. If there’s any real interest.....I could research my 2014.

The chart listed mine (2014 RAM 3500 Tradesman Crew Cab DRW) as 8,328....112 lbs less than my door sticker indicates.

Deleted WHAT? :D

Inquiring minds gotta know!
I was going to say my 2017 5500 doesn't have that sticker, so maybe not on C&Cs.

And I was going to say you need to know GVWR for your example, but remembered that should be on another sticker.

So, just had decided to let it go.

Cheers, Ron

Look again......one is on the “B” pillar and the other one is on the door.

In any event......the numbers are as supplied straight off the assembly line, as shown by my stickers. Additionally.....just to reiterate, the numbers are also prior to FSM....Final Stage Manufacturer.

Based on my sticker, looks like my bare 4500 Tradesman 4x4 Cab & Chassis weighed in around 8,592 lbs.

Since we all like pics......

Greg,

Thanks for the edumacation! I never saw the B-Pillar tag:

This is one of two I had seen:

and this one:

but not this one:

So, thank you for the info.

So based upon this, the base weight of my truck is 8,734 lbs. and had shown 8,643 Lbs previously. Add weight of accessories 100 lbs and I'm right in the ballpark with 8,743 lbs.

SO, YOU ARE CORRECT! I'm so glad I'm NOT to old to learn.

Cheers, Ron

Based on the comparison of our two trucks, your Laramie adds about 142 marginal lbs of luxury over my Tradesman, and I’m assuming you are also a 60” CTA.

Yep, 60CA. both full power front seats, electric back slider window, side steps, mother of all center consoles probably added that 142 pounds. No spare with the truck, but got the dealer to throw in at no additional cost. I know that's heavy, cuz im the one who built and mounted it to my headache rack.

I'll sleep good tonight, smarter than when I woke up.:D

Cheers with your beers!,:D
