No sir that is incorrect,The part numbers are the same for 25 and 3500's.

Took mine in... in January to get the SCR done. Left it for the long MLK weekend. Tried to go get it on the Monday and discovered they also ordered the Alternator and weren't ready to give it back to me, just yet. So they set me up with a rental because i also have Max Care which covers rental. Actually, i think they can do the rental without Max Care because of the recall.

FCA recomends the dealer supply a loaner, but it is my understanding it will be at the dealer expense. The Maxcare pays the dealer for the car.
Last year the dealer I was at spent 15-20k per month on un paid loaner expense. The GM put a stop to it-the goodwill did not up the bottom line enough to justify the $

I told him I have max care, he corrected me and said the recall provides it. I was under the impressIon he would charge Max Care Factory Direct Chrysler Warranty. He may not have been honest about it (how he would pay for the rental)or he may have gotten himself in trouble. The warranty is already paid for. It's his fault if he didn't use it fir the rental

They had the truck from Friday afternoon just before closing to Tuesday afternoon just before closing. But i only had the rental for 24 hrs

I appreciate the time taken to make the video. As always everything you see here is optional. If there is nothing to be taken from a subject or post just skip it. Something that may appear irrelevant to your truck at the time could help you in the future with an issue that may come up.
Thanks too tall for your time taken to do a video for us. Hopefully this will some day cover my 3500 as i do not want to pay out of pocket for something prone to failure on a 2500. Same part will probably suffer same failure rate even on a 3500.

Anyone notice after having the SCR replaced, the truck goes through active regens more often? I wonder if this is part of the new programming? I get now every week or every other week. It consists of a 100% to 70% count down on the EVIC. The truck no longer runs differently during active regens nor any noticable smell.

Also not noticing fuel dilution of oil that i used to see by oil climbing the dipstick

Your signature is "2013 Ram 2500", which is not included in this recall for 2014-2015's. Did you get your SCR replaced under this recall or for some other reason?

I took mine in three weeks ago for the recall. Two days after that my DEF "pump" failed. Maybe coincidental. In addition to the recall, they flashed the PCM for TSB 18-037-16 and flashed a few other components for other TSBs. This makes it difficult to tell what difference the recall itself had. The result for me of all the changes has been better shifting, it appears to grunt up a few particular hills better where it used to downshift, and maybe I am getting better fuel mileage but that is a tough one to determine from just a trip or two looking at the EVIC. I may hand calculate for a while to see.

As for 2013 not being listed as a covered model under the recall #S87, that is correct. 2013 Cummins equipped Rams were recalled under recall #S86. Why the different recall number for 2013's vs 2014-2015? I am not sure, and there are others on this forum with the knowledge base to answer your question accurately. If i were to guess why there are different recall numbers for different model year Rams with virtually the same engine and emissions? I imagine maybe there were different instructions to the dealer service dept for those different model years. Or maybe the part number that is ordered for the recall fix is different. As for fuel mileage, i haven't seen a noticable difference. Ram claims slightly worse fuel mileage should be expected. I wonder if that is because it seems to active regen slightly more regularly even though the new regen programmimg seems a bit more fuel efficient because it dumps less fuel into the cylinder which doesn't end up in the crankcase? Others with accurate info are welcome to debunk my guesses/assertions in this post if they feel I have stated something inaccurate or if something needs clarification.

The only difference in the recalls by year is the software and veci labels.SCR's are the same 3 Part #s std cab, crew cab,and Mega cab.

My 2014 DEF pump failed two days after catalyst recall replace of dpf. !!!! I have heard there's a national backorder on the pump because about 30 of them have done it my truck has 150,000 miles on it and they're not going to warranty it even though it's an emission control add-on and they just replaced the DPF under recall.

I am looking to get a hold of all of the people with a 2014 Ram mine's 3500 that the d e f pump fails and maybe we start a class action lawsuit to make this into a recall. They are forcing me to pay 1100 of the $1,600 bill.

You had a part fail at 150,000 miles and you want to start a class action lawsuit?
What a way to introduce yourself :-laf

In his defense..... it did just get broke in.

But the complaint probably isn't with FCA/Ram. If he thinks the dealer hit it with a hammer or messed up the pump, his complaint would likely be with the dealer service dept? Unless alot if people are seeing the same issue related to the recall?

You think it is acceptable to sue FCA over a dealerships (more specifically an individual mechanics) mistake or incompetence? I'm guessing you didn't even read his post
As for just getting broken in, he's put on 150,000+ miles on a 3 year old vehicle. I'd say it's good and "broke in" by now. Parts fail, life happens. My 15 year old roof is in need of replacement next year and it's got 20 year shingles on it. Who should I sue for that?
I'll answer that question for you just in case your really pondering on it, NOBODY.

If you want your DEF PUMP to last keep the DEF tank full when convenient, Example at 2/3 Full the DEF tank will take 2.5 Gallons. Owners that run the tank to red line increase failures, Example at 8F it will freeze solid when truck is started the De-thaw will begin, if only a small amount is present the element's will get hot/hotter and fail prematurely. Also you are subject to higher risk of contamination issue's...

I think the point was it seemed too coincidental that the pump failed right after the recall was done. My pump/controller did the same thing but I was still under warranty. I attributed mine to the recall and the new programming that went with it.

Another example is the UCONNECT over-the-air update which was required to be installed (you could only put it off for so long). It created problems for some owners that, from what I have read here, became the owner's problem to fix.

I don't see the connection, the only part that gets touched is the DEF Injector, If the Injector was plugged and re-installed it would have trigger a code....The over the Air is touchy, But recovery is possible VIA Stick at $0.00 cost other than the time wasted to download and install which I see .....hassle and time has value.
