Has anyone attempted to put a wet line kit on a second generation truck? I have been kicking around the idea of adding one to my truck, to power a 12,000 GVW dump trailer. I am not happy with the current electric over hydraulic system currently on the dump trailer. This would also allow me to move farm equipment that required raising before transport.

Scotty,

Are you considering a PTO driven set up???

If so let me know and I will contact my hydraulics vendor for price and part numbers to rig one up.

No attempt here to sell you one, will simply arm you with part numbers, etc. to go shopping in your part of the world.

I have owned a few trucks with wet lines and also sell quite a few here for new truck installs and they are fairly simple.

I don't see why you cant do it.

Is the dump trailer a one-line or two line set up??

You may need a little extra plumbing if the dump trailer is a one-line system and your farm implements are two-line.

I will caution you that whatever route you take there has to be a valve between the hose inlet and outlet connections on your truck for safety. If someone turns the PTO on without anything connected it will split the pump if there is no valve to let the pressure back into the return side.

Been there, have the t-shirt.

Let me know if you want me to dig into it for you.

I plan on installing on on my truck. I purchased a lot of parts for my dumping flat bed and have yet to install them. my plan was to run a wetline setup to the rear and I thought about a separate setup to the front too. My trucks hoist is 4000 psi up and 1500 psi down I have been collecting parts to make a nice dumping trailer also. My pto is a chelsea . . setup for a G56 trans. I am still paying it off I think lol. . ha it was expensive and swapped my transmission into another truck argh so my stuff is habitating on the shelf in the basement. I have been looking a a clutch pump setup also. I have a friend that has aford f550 with a clutch pump belt driven on the engine. he runs his hoist, sander , bed conveyor, and plow with this setup. he has lots of good to say and it is tough. only issue is expensive. its nice to beable to drive with the clutch pump where a pto trans pump isn't setup for that besides slow speed etc. Here's a link to my friends truck setup. I'd like to do something similar witha 2011 5500 dodge though. . only time and $ ha.

Thanks,

I've read about the DewEze Clutch kits and actually was looking at doing the same. If the hydraulic shop I'd purchase my trans pto was local I'd have exchanged for a clutch pump . . but they are in Philly and Its been too long to exchange now. Can you give us a basica idea of the price of a DewEze clucth pump kit for th ecummins if the customer installs himself etc?

thanks,

Deo

Pump with electric clutch, pump mount bracket, bolt package and any idler pulleys and belt would be around $1200 shipped to your door. The bracket is very sturdy and easy to install on the cummins.
