Don't quote me but IIRC 10k with a WD hitch. I recently installed a Class V Titan on my '03. . 18k capacity. :D

I had to put a Titan Class V on my 2006 3500, because my TT has a hitch weight of 1500 pounds. I was not able to get a high enough rating with any Equal-i-Zer hitch which I had used prior, and went to the Reese and dual cam sway control.

Have to say that I have been very happy with the new combination. No problems, and no sway whatsoever. - Ever.

I recommend that you get a Reunel rear bumper with hitch. Their bolt-on hitch (attached to their bumper) is rated 5000 lb. tongue, 15,000 lb. trailer; the welded Reunel hitch is rated 20,000 lb. Plus you will have a strong bumper instead of one made with 1/16" thick steel.

The Dodge factory hitch ratings are covered in your owner's manual. For example, the 2004 rear step bumper is rated Class III, for 5000 lb. trailers. The factory kunder bumper receiver hitch is rated "up to Class IV. " Class IV is 12,000 lb trailer, with 10% to 15% tongue weight.

Guys...

Remember that a lot of dealers order trucks w/o the tow package and dealer install it... . most dealers make more profit doing this... and often they might use an aftermarket hitch that doesn't meet the specifications of the factory installed hitch...

I know 2 local dealers who do this... As Sag2 suggests, any maker of quality hitches will stamp or place a tag on their product so you have an idea of what your buying... .

Joe has a great point as well...

We usually don't use the hitch, but install a B/W gooseneck hitch in our trucks... we factory order all our trucks and make sure that when we order the tow package is checked... and than follow the guidelines in the manual...

I was just asking as i don't have my new truck yet and I already dropped my old truck off. thanks for the replies.

All of my trucks all ways have tow package. I paln on doing a goose neck in the future, But for now ill just keep my small car trailer as im not towing anything big or heavy enough. I was just woundering as i was reading the one on the back of my bosses F350 and it says that its good for 12,500 with weight distribution and 6000 carrying and that led me into looking it the dodge one.
