I am going to buy a dual disk clutch for my 03'. Just wondering

what one to buy a South Bend or a Mitchell and the best place to get it.

Call them all !!!

They all have good dual disk clutches now. It does depend on what you want in a clutch and the price you want to invest.

You didn't pay close attention to my post.

It all depends on your requirements of the clutch.

My personal opinion because I started to go this route then reconsidered.....

I decided that it wasn't worth it to me anymore, and that I couldn't compete competitively so I decided to just get a South Bend 13" FE and keep my butt in the stands where it belongs.

Can you pull in 4th gear with a dual disk? I tried pulling in 3rd with my truck last year and was limited by speed and lost to underpowered autos. I have a SB 1947 Con FE.

Rob,

does 4th = the jesup gear??

lol! later!

Dan,

imo, if you have enough power to leave the line with it, you should have a good pull. if that's to slow try 5th in the 6spd. give you a 1:1 gear. make sure you have a 75' rule or just try it once. but remember that at every pull the sled could be set lighter or heavier. later, nick

Dan, like Nick said, try it once. HP level will depend on track conditions, sled, your axle ratio, gearbox, tires, ect, ect.

BTW, take pullin' advise from me with a grain of salt, I "know" how to do it, just can't seem to be able to. :)

Nick, I said "yep" you can pull in 4th, didn't say "I" did. LMAO (I stil say that was my test hook, couldn't break and drive 1100 miles home, LOL)

B S !!! You pull damn good most of the time. What the hell, it is for fun right? The most fun I have had was hanging around at the start line and chatin getting ready to pull.

Got smoke,

i drove mine everyday and drove it to more than 25 pulls and pulled it over the last five years. but now that i have another truck and trailer, i wouldn't. i'm especially not driving 1100 miles and pulling. later, nick

I remember the days of being called trailer queen, funny thing now evrybody trailers them... ..... I just dont have the urge to spend all night trying to fix something when you can tug it on the trailer and think about it later... ... Although it is a funny sight to see trucks get hooked up to a yellow wrecker to get towed home, hope the AAA card pays off lol
