I am looking to get a Prodigy brake controller and will probably buy off e-bay. My question is does the basic controller part number 90185 come with the simple little bracket and the generic wiring harness? I am getting conflicting answers. Everyone says new in the box but what is in the box. Many thanks. Hopefully I can get this on order tomorrow.

My box came with two brackets, one simple metal "u" and a plastic slide in mount. It also had a small cloth bag to carry the controller.

I got the aforementioned items in my box. The generic wiring harness connects to the Prodigy unit and then has loose wires for wiring up. I bought a Dodge brake harness at my local Camping world for ~ $8 or so. Also got a small CD explaining the stup etc... I hope this helps.

Prodigy Brake Controller

I just installed a Prodigy brake controller in my 06 and then towed my 32' 5th wheeler for about 100 miles. The brake controller worked as advertised and installation was fairly easy.

I did notice somewhere on the instructions: "DO NOT TEST YOUR TRAILER'S BRAKE AWAY SWITCH WITH THE PRODIGY HOOKED UP" or some warning such as that. It says if you do, it'll destroy the brake controller.

The Prodigy came with a simple metal u shaped mounting bracket, a plastic mounting bracket that allowed you to take the brake controller out, a bag to carry the controller in after removal, a wiring harness to connect to the OEM wiring harness if you got a trailer tow package with your truck plus instructions and a CD.

Have a safe tow

Byron :)
