Normally a plant operator ,processing what has been considered the most hazerdous gas in the world, took a temp job as an inspector to build our third plant, a world class project, to the tune of 278 million bucks

By day I'm a at home dad for my youngest daughter (age 4). After 1500 I jump into a nearby phone booth ( actually, there are no phone booths in Vernon :p ) and become a Police Officer. Been on the job for 14 years now, still love the job, although the people that I encounter sometimes leave something to be desired. No regrets, although I would have 19 plus years of service under my belt if I stayed In the Marines.

I also enjoy driving my truck, BOMBing the hell outta it and engulfing riceburners in large toxic clouds of diesel soot :D .

Was an owner operator for a while. I owned the whole rig.

I made good $$$ but didnt like working 24/7. Very boring on the road too, unless I was going to NYC or Harlem that day.

Had two head on collisions (one was a car, second was another tractor trailer, both were on my side of the road) and decided this sucked!

Got an offer to work for the DoD as a steam plant operator (have a license) and took it. R. I. F. 'ed Oct 94. Months short of being vested!!Two years w/o full time work.

Presently work for a well known chemical company (we dont make your sh*t, we make it better:D) in the steam plant.

Other than than when I was an owner operator, this is the best paying job I ever had. Get treated like crap, but it pays good.
