[B... Evolution is the belief that things are how they are by chance and were not created. That is why I used the illustration of a truck taken apart. The odds of anything coming together in an organized state is ZERO. Even a simple lean to hut made with only 2X4s, plywood and nails..... lay out all the parts, it will never come together. Yet many people believe everything (not manmade) we see around us came about by chance and evolved into all the different things we see today. Just because a person discovers a new insect or bird or fish, etc, it does not mean it was not already in existence for hundreds of years. Much like a criminal. "First offenders" have usually done previous criminal acts, it is just the first time they have been caught. [/B]

So how did evolution come about?

The probability of anything coming together is *nearly* zero, but is not exactly zero.

So why is God apparently not evident in the world, yet Satan is? Perhaps God set the universe in motion, gave it the best possible start, and left it on its own, and, despite Satan's meddling, the universe is still unfolding as it should, according to plan? Perhaps God created evolution as well? After all, all things were created by God. Even the things we've created were created by God. Stands to reason that God is in each one of us. And, if one ... adjusts one's vision, one will see that God *is* readily apparent in the world. More apparent, even, than Satan.

fest3er,

How did evolution come about?

Maybe those that believe in evolution can tell us. Off hand, I don't know. Will need to research that.

The probability of anything coming together is *nearly* zero, but is not exactly zero.

Let me rephrase that to, I believe that the chances of anything coming together on its own in an organized state is ZERO.

So why is God apparently not evident in the world, yet Satan is?

1 John 5:19, "whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. "

Perhaps God set the universe in motion, gave it the best possible start, and left it on its own, and, despite Satan's meddling, the universe is still unfolding as it should, according to plan?

Tried to explain this in 4th paragraph of 2nd post on this page.

I met Satan face to face. He is one evil individual. Fortunately I don't have to see him often and one of these days I will be able to say that I will never see him again.

I got this in my email today

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark...

One: Don't miss the boat.

Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat.

Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.

Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.

Six: Build your future on high ground.

Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

Nine: When you're stressed, float a while.

Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

So you have met Satan face to face. I did to. When I was laying in the hospital in a comma this is what I saw from up above. I was up above looking down on my room. The Satan I saw was nothing like I had been led to believe he looked like. I can not describe him but I had this feeling that he was -I don't know the words to describe it. I could see myself laying in this bed. This person came in to the room. There was just the two of us. He just stared at me. I try-ed to get to him but I could not move. He came and went for several days. Once he was laying down beside me. But as hard as I would try to get to him I could not move. I had a feeling that he was giving me what it was like where he came from. But as quick as he came he disappeared.

My wife told me that she stayed with me every night in hospital and there were numerous times there were a group around me praying for me. I don't recall any of that just that thing that I wanted to get out of my room. It was sort of like I could feel my spirit pulled this way and then it was pulled back this way. How long this went on I don't know. But I am here now. All I remember when I came out of it was this woman standing by my bed and I had to ask her who she was and what she was doing there. It was my wife.

When Doc said he had met Satan face to face it just made me think of it.

I voted no, it wouldn't change my beliefs. I already believe, and have had "life experiences" to confirm without a doubt that He does exist.

Everyone has a soul/spirit that goes on. Where it goes is decided by the individual.

I do believe in ghosts/spirits roaming amongst us too. I know most will not feel the same. I feel the they go hand in hand.

Has anyone here had an experience with a ghost/spirit?

Last night i did, then i discovered it was my roomate. :D

But seriously, i have never seen a ghost, but i have felt spirits, and it use to scare me, until i came to the realization, that with God's protection there is nothing they can do to me.

If you are cloaked with the spirit of God, then they are only like Daddy-longleg spiders; they might surprise the heck out of you, but they're really not a big deal. :p

Satan and evil spirits.

In my earlier years as a Christian I had a great deal of experience with devils. Visitations, manifastations, physical contact, voices, foul smells, and even casting out devils from those held in their grasp. There are diversities in evil and power amoungest these forces, they are not all the same. I might mention this is something people should avoid and not entertain, (i. e. weegee boards {sp}, satanism and thier rituals, exorcisms (old meaning), divination, observer of times, enchanters, charmers, channeling, wizards or necromancy. )

I also have personally seen Satan, (Lucifer) himself, once. Nothing anyone would ever want to go through.

Devils or (Demons) are the spirits that sometime manifest themselves as ghosts or even as the departed dead (familiar spirits found some 18 times in the A. V. of the Bible, Lev. 19:31, 20:6, Deu. 18:11 just to name a few). They, of course are deceiving spirits and try to take one's focus off of Truth, Scripture and Christ.

Scripture shows that once a person dies, their spirit goes either to be with the Lord or they go into hell awaiting Judgment and then to the eternal Lake of Fire. They don't haunt, or hang around this earth for unfinished business as Hollywood would want you to believe.

I too, as someone mentioned, have been baptised with the Holy Ghost, just like Scripture shows in Acts 1:5 and others, and NOT with the false anointings going on in some places today.

Very interesting thread

I have a very hard time with tradiional organized religions, in fact without them the world would be a much beter place.

Free your mind from all of the things so many others want you to believe. Stop looking at Religion from one point of view. Try and read scriptures from as many different religions as possible and look for the common themes. Stop quoting fire and brimstone to try and scare those that would like think for themselves. We are intelligent life forms and naturally question where we came from. Don't stop searching and asking those questions. Many turn to organized religion for comfort, others turn to it out of fear. Look at how many very zealous religious folks have skeletons in thier closets.

Walk through the Grand canyon, Zion national park, and other wonders of nature before making up your mind on when and how the earth was created. We are truly small and do not matter at all. period.

Back to the original thread. The story of the Ark was probably a story based on a true event. As is usually the case the story was probably changed over the years and is greatly exagerated. Still it holds many lessons and needs to be told.

If you choose organized religion please don't force your believes on the rest of the world so we may all live in peace.

Interesting point of view. Why is it that when anyone expresses a belief in Christ and in what the Bible says, there are those who feel that it's being forced on the "world", to quote your words?

Websters has a definition of "religion" as: Any system of beliefs, practices, ethical values, etc. -----------Therefore anyone can be religious about, brushing your teeth, eating, being an agnostic, buddhist, Catholic, Christian, humanist, etc.

I dislike organized Christianity and what it's become, but I don't disregard the Bible just because of what organizations have done in the name of Christ.

****** Note: From this post I haven't read one person state an organization; Which organization were you refering to?********

You mentioned to study out all of the scriptures of many different religions. Well, I have studied out all of the major religions of the world. Since it was your suggestion,-----have you??????? :)

I'm afraid that your last quote will not work. Even if you never heard another word about the Bible and Judgment. Islam is still going to be there and they will not let non Muslims live in Peace (it's in their scriptures). Their's, is a organized religion of pure hate and death to the infidels. That's me, but it also includes YOU.

Lastly, you said, "Free your mind from all of the things so many others want you to believe". . Well, does this include you and your beliefs? What you stated is Your RELIGION and you just attacked others---- wanting them to believe as you do. This is hypocrisy. :-{}

No matter what you do,, you participate in a religion.

Atheist are Religous.

*I* for one, don't consider myself "religous".

When you see me at Thunder in Muncie, and Dyno Events around, I'll be the one tearing up the asphalt. I'm the one who is up at 2am laughing, yelling, and just "disturbing the peace".

Am I a Christian? Yes. I will tell you how to become one too if you hint that direction. I operate my company with Christian values, I live my life with Christian values, with a few exceptions that I am convicted of, but can't seem to let go. (Music, speeding, sometimes Language, and misc. others. )

I am not a Christian Poster Child, but I think I'm an OK example of how Christ will save anybody who accepts him.
