Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) what next

I am looking for a little more power and also keep my egt down so what is the next thing I need to do? I also have a problem when i hit bumps the truck keeps on bucking until i let off the throttle any ideas ? thanks

There is a spring that hooks to two places on your throttle return. Not sure if that is exactly what it is called but it is down below your injection pump, sometimes that spring gets a little worn out or breaks all together. Check that out I would bet that is what it is. To get those EGT'S down I would go with a 4" exhaust maybe. Oh yeah welcome to the TDR. Let us know what ya find out.

a 3k Gsk would not kill the egts and will make the truck run alot better.

thanks for the information. I will check out the spring and let you know what find. I heard or read that the 3k gsk does not work very well with #5 plate is this true?

Not necessarily. I have a #5 and 3K governor springs and am quite pleased with the performance.

The throttle spring is actually two springs wound together. There are two hooks on each end. If one of them is broken it will act the way your's does. Another place to look is the kick down spring on the transmission. If it is missing or broken it will act like that.

I found a spring down low that is broken . The spring is made of a thin wire now to try and find one. thanks

The spring should be in stock at the Dodge dealer. Enuff of them fail that they need to keep some on hand.
