E.G.R. and the Diesel - Q&A

semi burnout

Figure that the engine will be running strong when the floorboards have rotted out and the frame rails can't keep the wheels off the fender wells. What will you do with that perfectly good Cummins? Put it in a boat? Build a tricycle out of it, like Jesse James? Generator off the back of the house? What?

Matt

Put it in my '81 Toyota pickup that currently has rust and weeds growing on/around it... mounted in the bed, probably... rebuilt from the ground up to handle the weight and power. As light as that thing would be, I'd say a 10 sec 1/4mi should be doable... LOL :-laf

A boat sounds about right.

Hey Sageair - how about a progress report on the 'ole 6. 0. I haven't noticed but 2 reports. I enjoy knowing how your truck is doing and personally wish good things for it. Let me (us) know.

In the case that you have made reports that I've missed, can ya link me. ;) Thanks.

I would hate to live in an area that the cars get rusty. That must suck to pay all that money and watch it get eaten alive.

Hmmmm well i figure if i don't have a engine for my M35A2( duece) then i know where the ISB will go, Plenty of HP and plenty of Torq of course some mods to wake it up like it should be, Wide awake

remember when you could by a "glider kit" for your class 8 truck?

you got new cab, chassis and diffs and put your old engine in.

you think DC could put that package together?

if not - it would make a great stationary generator. probably around 100 KW.

Putting mine in an excursion v-10 when the price of them drops enough. I saw one last week for $17,000. 00 for the a first year. When it hits $15,000 or less, I'll bite. I did a 2000 powerstroke crew cab a while back. That was a nice rig afterwards. It just needed a better emblem set to get the Navi motor labels off it.

I'd rather be Cummin' han Strokin' :)

Howzabout using it to repower a vintage Class A motorhome? Oh wait a minute, I'm already doing that... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .....

I'd probably buy a diesel powered Dodge - sell the newfangled diesel under the hood to some schmuck and slap in the good old 6BT.

I just hope they don't stop making body panels for the 2nd Gen trucks for a while. I'm going to need some doors for my '94... they're disappearing.

The doors on my '98 have also started to rust at the bottom...
