Hey Guys what is the going rate on a 97' extended cab , 100k , automatic, new batteries, needs new paint. Body in good shape otherwise, interior excellent condition. Thanks in advance

Is that price based on what's selling or Edmunds, KBB, etc?

I always check out of curiosity and around my area, KBB says around $6k.

$10K sounds really high. I paid $7500 for mine a year ago with 170K mi. Had 50K on the short block, 25K on the DTT trans & Dynomite injectors. New batteries, excellent mechanical & interior. In other words, what I paid didn't even come close to covering what the PO had spent in the last 2 years or so.

Paint peeling on upper door frames and a little on the bed rails & fender tops, but still looked pretty respectable. Hood & roof had been replaced due to hail damage, so paint was good there. Bought it in Austin TX. Around here, I'd say the truck you're looking at would be $6-7K max.

guess he went to look at it ended up needing new paint , transmission was weak feeling he offered him a lowball number guess he was going to sleep on it. Thanks for your help .

I paid $7500 almost a year ago for my 97 4x4, cc 178k miles. It is now really hard to find good 12v trucks in California. Prices are way high now when they come up for sale. A friend sold his 94 single cab 2wd for $6800... Folks are buying these relics to avoid getting smogged.

I will take all the mint stock southern trucks for $7500, with the exception is flaking paint you got. sure there is good deals on them occasionly but I dont think anyone can show me trucks like this can be bought any time you want for cheap. keep in mind we are talking about a dry Cal. rig.

Peace, B.

If the 12 valves are not subject to emissions testing in your area, I would think they would be worth every penny. Besides a 97 with only 100k, If paint is the only thing wrong with it thats not bad. My factory paint was failing in a few years and it wasn't due to lack of care.

in texas they go between 4200 and 6500 depending on what has been done to the truck. ie upgraded p pump fass filter system ... sounds like when i sell mine... if i do i need to market it in seattle.
