Anyone know where to get stakes for tents??

Anyone from Idaho Falls, Idaho?

Non-fiction:

The Bible

In Search of Excellence and A Passion for Excellence by Tom Peters

Fiction:

Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

Grisham and Clancy have been pretty entertaining, especially their early books. Their writing has gotten a little formulaic and predictable lately though.

If'n it's a good read I'll bury my face and not "come up for air" for hours at a time. Gets in the way of getting my honey do list whittled down, but then what else are hammocks and warm summer days good for?

These are some of my all-time favorites:

"Fools Die", by Mario Puzo

"The Dogs of War" by Frederick Forsyth

"Rage of Angels" by Sidney Sheldon

"The Price of Honor" by Col. David Hackworth

"Mission Compromised" by Col. Oliver North

"Exodus" by Leon Uris

"Trinity" by Leon Uris

"Army Blue" by Lucian K. Truscott IV

ATLAS SHRUGGED

The Bible deals with your spirit. Atlas Shrugged deals with the world. Both can change your lifeand increase your wisdom. BTW Atlas shrugged is 1200 pages long and small print . Could not put it down and read it in 2 weeks. Who is John Gault?

I liked "Atlas Shrugged" but it isn't the best book I've ever read. The plot suffers as Rand drives her points home but still it's a great read and a very influential book. I believe everyone should read it.

I'd like to meet a "Dagny Taggart" someday. :) And I'd like to be the guy who invents "Rearden Metal. "

For pure reading pleasure, I'll stick with Hemingway or Clavell.

Who is John Galt?

i don't have the attention span to sit down and read a book. i wish i did, but can get through about 1 page in a book after reading the same few lines over and over again before i get frustrated and fed up with it. magazines i can handle, and service literature/instruction manuals, but books, heck no. last book i read was catcher in in the rye back in grade 12 highschool... before that was "lord of the flies" in gr 11, before that was "the chrysliads" [sp?] in gr 10, and before that was way back in public school gr 6 "where the red fern grows". gr 5 "island of the blue dolphans"...

Nick, you said it right down to "Where The Red Fern Grows". I can't keep my head in a book either. Never read "Island of The Blue Dolphans" though but I guess all Ontario schools make ya read the same books. (Glad that's over with)

Best Books

The one and only, 1611 Authorized Version of the Bible

Foxe's Book of Martyrs = Attitude Adjusting Book

Two Babylons by Hyslop = Background

Bloodlines of the Illuminati = Background, history

The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings

JRR Tolkien invented the modern fantasy book. Never could wrap my mind around the Silmarillion though.

Fate Is The Hunter; Ernest K. Gann

Red Storm Rising; Tom Clancy

When I'm bored with all the others, I'll read one of them again.

There are so many! I have read all of Hemingway and Steinbeck, all good. And another vote for "Atlas Shrugged".

My vote for all time best goes to "Something of Value" by Robert Ruark.

For a modern writer try the Doc Ford series by Randy Wayne White. My favorite is the "Man who invented Florida". Light reading, but enjoyable.

I can't wait till my Alshimers (sp) is complete. I'll be able to have one book and one DVD in my library. They will be new to me each time I read/watch them.
