I just purchaced a 1998. 5 Dodge 2500, NV4500, K&N intake, pac brake, 4" exhaust, isspro gauges, and a fass (?) fuel pump. (200K) it has an edge programmer, but it is one of the ones where you need to pull off the side of the box to change the 3 power levels. what i would like to know is what is the best programmer/chip that i can change in the cab, with out over powering the stock NV4500 or andy other components. any info will help

People must be a little hesitant to step in here. Sounds like you have an EZ which is about as good as you will get without overpowering a stock clutch. I stepped up from an EZ to a CaTCHER program & liked the bottom end much better. The on the fly adjustable programmers tap the injection pump wire to lengthen the injection event. There is a lot of power to be had that way but not without a clutch upgrade. Calling any one the best is bound to crate controversy but the Adrenaline is the new kid on the block

Your stock clutch will be your weak link. I would consider an edge comp, adrenaline, smarty, or other adjustable module. The thing about the smarty is it is not adjustable on the fly like the others but is still provides good low end torque. You may not be able to use the upper setting on the adjustable modules until the clutch is upgraded. A lot of times you can find used components in the classifies on this sight at a decent savings.

adrenaline for chip, smarty for programmer, we have a 2001 that is running both but we really havn't done any dyno testing to see what levels work the best on the stack. your probably gonna need a clutch also.

I run a Van Aaken box for timing, awaiting a buddies Blue Chip FMS :), a lot of other guys are running Smartys instead if a VA box. Moose

Asking that question will get you a LOT of different answers. I have been happy with my Juice w/Attitude. You already have gauges, so a comp or drag comp would be the next step up from what you have. If you haven't been so happy, then you should try something different. I've heard good and bad about pretty much every box out there. If I were try a different setup, I'm really not sure what I would do. I like the adjustability of my setup along with being able to got from "drive" to "kill" with a couple clicks of a button.
