First of all Steve thanks for the new category towing and hauling.

I'm gonna keep this post short instead of getting into the details.

I would like to know how you more expirenced guy's feel about running your wheels at about 500# over their rated amount.

Wheels are rated @ 3100#

what are the tires rated at??? 3042# ??????

I dont think I would exceed either wheel or tire ratings. criminal and or civil liability.

J the tires are rated at 3340lbs.

I know it's not right to exceed these ratings but everyone I've spoken with say this is common with slide-in campers. I'm not comfortable with this but I can't be the only one in this situation.

I have about 110,000 loaded miles on my 95 2500. I carry a 10' Alpinlite camper and pull a 7 to 8000# trailer behind. I did change the wheels to Alcoas and run BFG 285's I have not had a wheel failure even though I am in excess or the loaded wheel rating. My new rig is a 3500 and handles the load MUCH better. I have seen the American Racing wheel split on a truck with a similar load. . = there is a differnce in wheels.

Robert thanks, this is the kind of reply I was looking for. I would also like to know if you have had any problems with law enforcement checking your rig.
Thanks in advance.....
