I just ordered some new tires and now I am thinking about getting some new wheels since a couple of my wheel covers are broken and barely hanging on. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the best(cheapest) place to order from. Right now I'm looking at the Hot Shots for my dually.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I have been looking at their website. Looks like great prices. There is something else that I am wondering. If I order these wheels will I need to get lugs and centers or can I use the "Ram Head" centers and lugs that came on the truck. Will that look OK or would it be better to get the Alcoa centers and new lugs.

As soon as I get an answer I am gonna' order.

I have a 1996 with 16x7 Alcoas and the factroy center caps off my '96 and the newer caps off an '01 will not work with my 1996 lug nuts. The 2000 lug nuts may be different?

I was going to pick up a couple of the newer lugs to check if they are different. From what I can determine they may be a little longer than the previous non-alloy truck lugs.

I know this doesn't help much for your application, but I thought I would share my expereince.

Yes, you can use the "Ram Head".

If you want to use the Dodge center caps you must use the stock lug nuts.

If you want the Alcoa caps then you will need to get Alcoas lug nuts and covers or other aftermarket lug nuts.

Not the best picture, but here are my Classics with Aloca Caps and Lugs.

Thanks for the response Cooker and Big Daddy. Now that I know it will work, how good do you guys think this will look? Be honest I don't want my truck to look cheesy.

Big Daddy, How's it goin... .

Hemi dart last month brought a Alcoa "Mickey Thompson" Challenger wheel down for me to mount on my truck to see how it looked. (Looked awesome) However when I tried mounting my "Ramhead" center caps the would not fit on the lugs all the way. The wheel itself interferes with the cap.

I'm not sure about the 7" wheels or about years below 2000 but it wouldn't fit on mine.

Just passin a note along. :)

Mactruck,

For the record, the older style caps for the chrome wheels are different than the newer style caps for the alloy wheels. If you want to install the OEM center caps it appears the alloy caps with newer lug nuts will do the trick.

Personally I would prefer to have the OEM caps. They cover up the area around the lugs which is a very difficult area to keep clean if left exposed. JMHO

Wheels

I recently purchased a set of Alcoa LTS wheels from Southwest Wheels. Also got the lug nuts, caps etc. I will not put them on the truck till spring though. I am having a set of Michelin XPS rib tires mounted. Pretty big price tag to do all at once too. Oh well, what is money for anyway?

Regards, John

Hey Kevin :D It's been awhile. How the gauges doin'

One more tad of info: The Classic and Challenger have the same rating. The Classic II has a lower weight rating.

Additionally, any width greater than 6 1/2 " can only be purchased as an M/T wheel.

Joe

The widest you can buy from Alcoa is 7".

Also, I heard some talk Alcoa is not going to be making the MT wheels anymore is this true?
