this is my little town near cape cod Massachusetts. We are mostly trees and cranberry bogs, but due to the cranberry industry going down the tubes over the years more and more land is being developed for residential. There isn't much going on in town, but thats the way I like it. Born and raised, and raising my family here now.
http://www.markham.ca - markham is where i live right now... when i buy my own home, i would like to live here still, but i can't afford the $300,000+ house prices here
Moved here from Michigan in 1978 Timber industry still going but not what it use to be. I think we are turning into a tourist state. Fortunately people need fuel to power there rigs so I stay busy.
Wharton, Texas- about 60 miles SW of Houston. Town of about 10,000 in a county of about 45,000. Mostly agricultural. Close enough to get city stuff but a slower pace of life. First wife hated it, second wife loves it!
We live in Cypress on the northwest edge of Houston. We can still sit on our back porch in the mornings drinking coffee and listen to the horses over on the horse farms, but the way the bulldozers are coming in knocking down the forest for the new subdivisions and strip malls that are being thrown up, that won't last much longer. The wildlife is already coming into our back yard looking for food and shelter.
The wife, kids, and I live in Missouri City, TX... which is a suburb of Houston. While we are in a planned community, First Colony, it is very quiet and our neighbors are cool as heck.
This is a nice place to live. The demographics shown are slightly skewed. There is a state prison that makes up a large percent of the population. Most folks here are older caucasion (sp?) people and very respectfull of each other. Working in the bay area rat race it is nice to come home on the weekends http://www.city-data.com/city/Ione-California.html
Well here's where I've spent the last 7 years working. Most of it tunneling under the city of Boston and in submersed tunnel sections under the Boston Harbor www.BIGDIG.com
I'm trying to find a link to the @#$%hole town I live in. But moving to Gloucester Co. Va the end of the year Oo.
