As you guessed, I don't have a manual yet...

And I placed a little spring in the ashtray, and it fell into the cigarette lighter socket, and blew the fuse to the cig. Lighter. Now I can't charge my cell phone.

Also, the backup lights don't work. Any suggestions where to start?

I have a little voltmeter. :D

Thanks for answering some rather lame questions... I really need to buy a manual, instead of bothering you.

It's a secret... . ;)

It's under the steering column. Remove the four screws that hold the plastic dash panel on and it'll be revealed. :D

You're lucky, I had a penny fall into mine, which was direct wired to the battery. The wire was laying across the hydraulic clutch line and burned a hole in it, which meant the clutch quit working. Luckily, I was in Texas, which meant I only had about a 10 or 12 hour drive home without a clutch. I didn't wire it that way, but I'll NEVER wire anything straight to the battery ever again!!!

PS My fuse box is directly under the steering column, on the back side of one of the trim panels.

No need to remove any screws to get to it (unless the 93 is that much different). just reach up behind the trim piece and pull it out. There should be a little catch at the edge of the trim piece. It will just lift out and there should be enough wire to swing it out into sight.

NOt all of my trucks had enough wire; I take the 4 screws out now. Too much of a PITA to try to cram it up in there, while lying on my side and looking up at the steering column, feet and butt hanging out the door. About that time I get a cramp in my leg or hip, bang my head on something... ...

Nate, you can keep the cig lighter in the hole to keep the pennies/ springs/ small bolts from dropping in there.

Backup lights -start at te bulbs. Reach under the corner of the bed, and twist the pigtail out of the socket, and you can change the bulb without removing the taillight lens. Though I doubt many of you have a tail light held on with baling wire AND baling twine. I do, no joke. Then, I'd check to make sure the wiring to the backup light switch on the transmission is good (check connections, wiring, make sure the ends of the plug arent corroded or clogged. ). It is on the driver's side top, toward the front. Hard to get to is an understatement. 24mm/ 15/16" to remove it. Might have to custom bend a wrench to get to it.

I have several things that draw current with a wire straight to the battery BUT, I have a fuse at the battery end of the wire/s. An unfused wire is a coiled rattlesnake. Glad you didn't burn your truck AJ. I have seen that happen with kids doing their radios and giant speakers.
