Clutch Fan Running when engine is cold

Hey fellas, So my southbend MU G56 CON FE clutch has started to slip on me at higher RPM's I installed it 12 years ago and about 80,000 miles. I'm just trying to figure out what clutches you guys are putting in these days is South Bend still good to deal with they were good to me back then, Also which clutches you guys would recommend, I'm not planning on adding anymore power and very rarely go above 3 on the edge, I tow a 5th wheel and occasional dump trailer. My SB has always jerked like crazy when backing up usually always have to put it in 4wheel I would like to see if i could get away from that.
I have called and talked with several different companies and vendors and there suggestions are all over so I thought I would see what you guys recommend

Thanks in advance

If they were good to you back then, why would you consider going somewhere else?
Im on my second SB 3250 in my 06 with 356,000 miles . Peter has been straight up with me. Very helpful and excellent customer service.
You've had yours for 12 years . That's a long time. The fact that it started slipping on you at 80,000 miles tells me that you hammer on it...alot. Talk with Peter at SBC, I'm sure that he'll steer you in the right direction.

I'd look at the Valair quiet organic dual disc. I have the OKHD The Valair clutch is supposed to have less pedal effort. I spoke to Peter personally and he asked me if I towed. I said no but I carry a 2K# wet popup around constantly. He recommended the OKHD. SBC has their own "quiet" organic dual disc too.

I was just wondering if they are still good to deal with companies get sold or handed down, I tried calling them and they didn't answer the phone. I used to hammer on it 10 years ago, I havnt had my edge turned up past 3 for years, most of those miles are around town also. I was hauling my trailer down out of the mountains and once we got out got out on the main highway we stopped for a break and when we started back on the road is when my clutch started to slip at higher RPM's

I installed the the South Bend G56-OK-HD last year with their hydraulics. Absolutely smooth in all situations, especially when backing up a heavy trailer. Which, was not the case with a CON FE that I ran in the mid 2000's on a different Ram.
Good to know!! I've been looking at the G56-OK-HD and the G56-OFEK would you guys recommend changing the fly wheel out and hydros or just resurface and use the hydros I have they seem fine?

Thanks

I would give South Bend a call direct tomorrow and ask that question. They do offer clutch only kits available since you have already replaced the factory dual mass flywheel.

Here is one example.

Both manufacturers recommend a new flywheel as a package.

Get a new flywheel with the improved bearing and call it done. It's $800 or more labor to do the job again if you reuse a flywheel that has hot spots in it. You can't resurface the hot spots out as the tool bounces off the heat treated hot hard spots. The metal change from the heat is deeper than they wack off anyway. The high hot spots come back soon and you have a poor performing clutch. Maybe one can GRIND these hot spots out, but, there may not be enough thickness left...

Well stated.

That's what me and my brother have found. I don't play well with a business that doesn't have someone/anyone to answer the phone. I think Peter is mostly retired now...

There are a lot of good clutches out there.

Thanks for the reply's guys I'm not going to bother with resurfacing ect. I was able to get a hold of South Bend today to try and talk with Peter but the secretary said he is down in Fl, so definitely could be in retirement mode now. I talked with Ryan and he was super helpful, looking at the SDD3250-G-ORG after talking with him.
