Which color is the marker light wire?

A while back I installed the cab clearance lights. They weren't the factory lights so I got on line to see which wire to tap into. I read one post that said it was the "light brown or tan wire" so I used that one. Well everything's been working fine until one day I find that the tan wire was for the dimmer control. Sure-enough I spin the dimmer wheel on the light switch and my clearance lights go down with the dash. But as long as I don't use the dimmer you can't tell the difference.



Anyway, these lights are grounded on the roof with one wire going down the pillar to the light switch. Can someone tell me which wire to tap into for the 2001 model so the clearance will come on with the marker lights. I did a search but there are different answers.

The wire you are looking for on the '99 is black with a yellow tracer, pretty sure they are the same.
