Looking at doing some injectors and was wondering what some of your opinions might be as pro's and con's.

My goal 500hp or close to it.

I know i'm gonna have to do some supporting mods (transmission, etc).

These are the injectors i've been looking at.

Bosch 275's

Mach 1. 6.

Talked to a buddy of mine and he said rather than buying smaller injectors and then buying bigger ones down the road get some decent sized ones now.

He is trying to convince me to buy Mach 4's and i wouldn't have to buy anymore injectors down the road to reach my goal. Wasn't really wanting to spend that much on injectors. But i do wanna do this right the first time and not have to respend more money to upgrade down the road.

What are you opinions and why? And if you reccomend any other injectors let me know and i'll add them to my homework list... :-laf

THANKS

ask yourself REALLY is 500hp enough? if so, a 100-150 injector with a good box and turbo will do it. but if you dont want excess smoke w/poor mileage you cant turn injectors "off" so a moderate injector and box/boxes is good. dig around and 150hp injectors aren't too much $$.
but you will find few who would say Mach 4's arent worth every penny!

I'd go for the bigger ones. You got the gauges to watch things. I don't see a turbo on your sig. and if your going for 500hp you will need something bigger than stock. I have jammer 3 and think I probably could have went bigger.

Well Between 450-500 is where i would like to stay for reliability reasons. So what your saying is i should buy the bigger ones and do it right? Yeah injectors for now are a stepping stone. After Injectors, then maybe this winter or next spring a transmission, then i'll get into turbo's. Is that too long to go with that big of injector?

you'll need the trans. done asap. As it is marginal stock. I would then get a box(adjustable), then a turbo(to burn all the fuel), then injectors to get all the power the turbo can handle. If you do injectors first you'll run too hot and need a turbo, then you'll get a box and need MORE turbo. by then you'll have blown your trans.
you've got 75's now, so do the trans for your expected power level+ then add a box, and by then you'll NEED a turbo and thats when you can decide on injector size. JMHO.

Well one of my main reasons behind doing injectors now is i have a lope/miss at idle once the truck is warmed up and have done some reading up and seems to me that some people have had the same problem with jammer injectors. Not saying that, thats whats giving me the lope/miss at idle but thats where i was told is a good place to start with.
