Okay, I have a #6 plate on order, but Brandon said I should just get silly with it and go with a #4. I have the 180 pump, 49 state intake(no EGR) and I am also ordering the AFC and gov. spring kits. My question is,

Which plate?

Which spring kit?

I don't tow very often (only about 2-3K of horses & trailer when I do) but I am turning 37" tires through an auto trans. Not ready for the DTT goods yet (NO $$$$), so I would prefer not to grenade the trans on the test drive.

Any help is much appreciated!!!;) ;)

When you get that #6 put in, bump it forward 1/16"- 1/8" & see how much more you get out of it vrs. stock location. You might decide you have enough.

You might consider seeing if you can get a picture of the two plates and see which has the curve that gives you the powerband you are looking for.

You can always start with the #4 slid back. Keep it slid back until after the transmission mods. Then when that level of power become 'normal' and you start to think you could use more, just slide it up to the stock position. And when that becomes 'normal', you can slide it up . 030 - . 040.

Just start with the #4 all the way forward! Your transmission will love you! :-laf Just kidding! I would, however, start with the #4 and slide all the way back to start with.

All I can tell ya about the #4 is that it's almost enough power for me. Gets me sideways in 3rd with my big tires.

I'd say 400+ if I had to guess, but you'll get some high egt's that only porting & larger housing can fix.
