The Houston Astrodome, What to do?

Been snowin' for about 2 hours now. Waitin' to see if we actually get the predicted 8"-12". It's almost white-out conditions right now, and for the love of the man above, I hope it slows up a bit. I really want to get out to see people later tonight, but with my luck, the plow crews won't even think about going to work until sometime tomorrow morning. Oh well, Merry Christmas to y'all anyway :)

JR2, how do the weather guys get away with a forecast picture like this when the sun doesn't make it above the horizon?

You know I never even realized that they show a sun... thats funny stuff. I just got back from driving across the field (30 miles) and it is barely dusk out. The sun doesn't come up here for another couple of months.

Had an 1" today, was bare the night before and it snowed in the early am. still cold as H***. light and fluffy the snow is.

Normally it would be a sure thing up in Canada where I´m based

but not this year.

Ï´m down in Venezuela for about 6 months and just can´t see it snowing here on Margarita Island.

Doesñ´t feel like x-mas at all. :{

We got a white xmas alright but I was not home to "enjoy" it. I think we had around 16". I got home last night around 8pm and left the motorhome at my neighbors since he had his drive plowed. Trees down everywhere and no one has power. I hiked the 900 or so feet up the hill to my house, fired the generator up and got out the tractor. After three hours of plowing, I chained up the motorhome tires to get it up my drive and got in bed around 2am. Got back up at 8 and had at it again. A real winter!

Funny part was, I went through serious snow country and everyone thought I would be stuck somewhere.
