Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) advice on turbo upgrade??

I wanted to find out what could be happening with my truck. Occasionally when I drive my truck I notice when I get on the accelerator moderately, in gears 1 & 2 it will miss out and blow some white smoke. When I really get in it though there is no problem and it seems to be fine. This will happen occasionally when the motor is hot, but I notice it when the motor has warmed up for 10 minutes and is still not reached full operating temperature. Is that normal, or should I be looking for something else. I do have the # 12 TST plate and change my fuel filter every 10,000 miles. I might add, that this has happened since I fixed the a KDP failure around 6 months ago. Before then it never had that problem. Any ideas anyone. Other than this minor thing, the engine seems tight and runs awesome. Thanks

sounds like an injector hanging open, white smoke is usually fuel that wasnt ignited, unlike black smoke that is fuel that hasnt completely burned. have the injectors cleaned and pop tested if a heavy dose of your favorite brand if fuel system cleaner doesnt do the trick (double the recommended amount).

I had the same issues when my air filter would get clogged after 4 wheeling. Problem went away every time i dumped the dirt out of the filter.

every time I've had a truck running like that, adding timing helped or cured it.

I'm guessing that when the truck went back together, the pump was timed lower than it was before. I'm betting they put you back together in the 12. 5-14* range, and you probably want to be in the 16-17* range
