Coming back from Rim Rock (steep 6%-7% for miles) camper (94 alpenlite 11. 6") towing the 4runner on the trailer, had been driving for about 3 hours at 70-80 mph and we pull off (with some speed and not a lot of cooling down time) to the rest area to the dump station and the dodge is blowing out some light (white) colored exhaust. Light exhaust not a ton of billowy white stuff. This continues until we accelerate and get back on the highway.
We had to pull off again about 12 miles up the road to re-secure one of the side storage compartments and again came off the freeway onto the ramp with some speed and again had a little white exhaust.
Truck is a 2002 cummins 3500 4x4 with about 12,000 miles on it, it has a Van AAken chip in it, aftermarket exhaust and a banks engine brake.
Under minimal load conditions (we've been hauling a lot (25-30) loads of mixed sand/gravel, straight sand, topsoil and pallets of sod for the past month or so and the most we see now is a light puff of black exhaust.
normal or abnormal?? our 2001 cummins had the same mods minus the engine brake and it never did that (white exhaust)... I doubt we hot-rod'd it like this truck tho...
What is wrong? or is this normal.
