. Is it permissable to get my truck up to 100MPH and coast most of the 5 miles? If so, then I bet I could hit 40MPG.
now this i would pay to see. ok day 3 and still no one has tried my test. why 5 miles? well if you can find 10, 20,or 30 miles, more power to ya. here in L. A. if you do 50 mph on the freeway you get shot. that is if you could just go 50 with all of our traffic. guys this ain't that hard!

Give it up, Greg, it's a meaningless test and that's why nobody is paying any attention. But keep reading the posts anyway, pal, there's lots of good stuff to comment on.

OK, if W can come clean on his National Guard records I can come clean on my fuel economy. Below is my fuel economy for every fill up since I bought the truck in mid-July last year. Most of my driving is mixed between city and highway miles. I've had it up to 100MPH once or twice. Usually I cruise the highways between 80MPH and 90MPH. When I travel long distance I use the cruise control. While I like to vary the RPM, I don't treat it like a three-legged dog. I never cruise less than 70MPH unless the traffic forces me to. When filling the tank I like to get about $3-$4 of additional fuel in the tank to top it off. Based on the above, these are my hand calculated MPG's since I bought the truck:
MPG / MILES
15. 06 MPG / 419. 9 MILES
19. 19 MPG / 342. 9 MILES
17. 93 MPG / 519. 5 MILES
16. 02 MPG / 383. 8 MILES
16. 79 MPG / 476. 7 MILES
20. 78 MPG / 505. 6 MILES
15. 74 MPG / 329. 9 MILES
19. 76 MPG / 442. 6 MILES
17. 38 MPG / 423. 0 MILES
17. 29 MPG / 444. 6 MILES
18. 44 MPG / 516. 3 MILES
17. 27 MPG / 228. 1 MILES
18. 97 MPG / 510. 1 MILES
16. 30 MPG / 413. 7 MILES
18. 22 MPG / 530. 7 MILES
17. 36 MPG / 496. 3 MILES
15. 61 MPG / 446. 4 MILES
17. 27 MPG / 537. 0 MILES
18. 49 MPG / 582. 9 MILES
18. 25 MPG / 507. 2 MILES
16. 82 MPG / 493. 8 MILES
18. 82 MPG / 538. 0 MILES
15. 22 MPG / 436. 8 MILES
16. 73 MPG / 493. 1 MILES
17. 16 MPG / 452. 4 MILES
18. 44 MPG / 512. 6 MILES
14. 32 MPG / 171. 9 MILES
17. 64 MPG / 444. 7 MILES
16. 12 MPG / 479. 9 MILES
16. 14 MPG / 430. 7 MILES
17. 74 MPG / 538. 1 MILES
17. 35 MPG / 423. 1 MILES
17. 14 MPG / 527. 7 MILES
