Bio-diesel

Hee-hee! I'm waiting for the guy who says he switched over to hair oil or strained grease from McDonalds and gets better mileage at half the cost!

Naw, Dean, I'm not questioning anyone's claims either 'cause I know nobody would come on here and lie to us deliberately. But it does make you wonder what kind of scores some of these people got in grade school math.

I know what it is! They figger this stuff out while driving down the highway! Everybody knows our trucks have a stiff suspension and if we come up with 20 or 30 or even 40 mpg while bouncing down the road, hey, at least we're trying!

Now, let's see, where were those figures I got yesterday ...

That's Funny!!!:D

I am sure we will see it...

What's the limit???

I gotta wonder what the "real" upper limit is on these Cummins engines as far as mileage is concerned. I can get better than 24 mpg at 65 mph with the cruise control. It's got to be a long trip on interstate... . no stopping for a wizz every 20 miles.

The drive from Boise, Id to Seattle, Wa is about 1200 miles roundtrip. Made that trip many times and the mileage is just over 24 mpg. I'm not going to tell you what I got from Idaho to Wisconsin last year. We had a tail wind all the way from Montana so it doesn't mean much... . lets just say it was good... real good.

So, I think the real test should be the best mileage on a 1000 mile trip or better. And a round trip at that to cancel out the wind thing.

I'll bet if somebody really wants to set up the engine/truck for mileage and not just power... who knows... . 30mpg??? Maybe thats the "Holy Grail" of fuel economy... 30 mpg. Let's go for it... pump those tires up... set the cruise at 35... somebody can do it!!!

Good thread guy's.

Mike
