My 2000 3500QC 4x4 would not fit in my garage (to long) :( My new truck 2002 3500 Regular Cab 4x4 fits in my garage (2 inches to spare). I don't think my garage is that unusually short. Just wondering if many of you also have the short garage problem? I'm really glad to have the truck in the garage now. I think it just keeps it in better shape and warmer in the winter. But I am sure the local bird miss the target practice. :p

Mine fits in my garage at my aparment. The garage is plenty long, just not very wide.

I was looking at a dually, but I'd only have a two inches on each side trying to get it in through the door. A little too close for comfort to do on a daily basis.

This is one of those "YMMV" subjects... :D

I've mentioned before, MY truck replaced a restored/custom '70 Cadillac convertible, a '98 Camero SS, and my '91 Dodge/Cummins - so to me, it must perform all 3 duties - custom, hotrod, and tow vehicle. Nothing radical mind you - and when I work it, I don't spare it - but otherwise I baby it as much as possible - I take my wife's older grocery-getter '93 Mazda in poor weather so the truck can stay clean in the garage - after all, it's worth about *6 times* what the Mazda is...

The truck is largely my plaything, a toy that works when needed, but is used for other purposes and personal outlets as well...

Yup - YMMV! ;) :D

My truck has to saty outside. The garage is not long enough or tall enough to get the truck in. The doors are only 7' tall:eek: . The only truck that I was able to fit in my garage was a regular cab short bed. That is because of the work bench and other stuff that is stored at the front of the garage.

Mine spend every night in the garage, witht he block heater plugged in. :D It's a tight fit... I got 6" on either end. House & garage were built in 1942.

My 3500 Dually will barely fit in my garage, but it lives outside, so my kid can keep his new Maxima out of the weather.

The things we do for our kids!

Mine fits nicely in the garage with about a foot on each end (a little less now that I added the Mopar brush guard). We don't get much snow in No. Nevada, but frost almost every morning and its a pain to scrape the windows on this thing.

STG2500 - is your truck lifted? My 2WD has a lot of clearance at the top, and I only have a 7 ft door. My old boss has a 01 4x4 2500 w/ 285's and he said it clears his standard 7 ft door by about an inch. Just curious because I am trying to find a 2nd gen 4x4 and I want to make sure I can get it in the garage for oil changes, etc.

My truck with 285s still goes easily in under a 7' clearance. I have a few inches to the top of my garage door and it's a little under 7' high.

VIc,

I forgot to mention that the truck would fit if I took the CB antena off. The truck is 7'3" tall to the top of the firestik. It would clear in height with an inch or two to spare. I am planning on getting 295's this summer so I am not sure if it would still fit without the CB antena after they are installed.

I bought a 12X26 steel carport with sides on it and it works well. It cost about a thousand dollars. I could have got it in my garage but we all know about the "10 pounds of $#!+ in a 2 pound bag" saying. I have my restored '55VW and the wifes '84 mbz in the garage.

Funny you should mention this. I just got approved for $10,500 towards building my garage. I will not have enough $ to finish it, but I should be able to get all the block work and 2 concrete floors done (I will be doing most of the work).

I live on a hill so I am building 2 floor garage. 24 wide x 26 deep (inside mesurements). I think I am going to go 24' wide so I can use standard steel under the top level concrete floor. The Top will have 2- 9' wide doors, the VW jetta and Ford Ecape go upstairs, then the bottom will have 1 - 10' door, and the truck and workshop goes down stairs.

In fact I am going to talk to the engineers at the steel place tomorrow. I hope to not have a collum in the middle of the basement, we'll see what they say tomorrow.

Mine would fit in the old garage but not enough room to walk around the truck. So I tore it down and built a new one 24x46,

with a 9x18 foot door. My wife calls it the Dodge Ma Hall.

Still wish it was bigger.

I keep mine in one of those party tents, does this count? :-laf

Actually it wouldnt fit in the garage, by about an inch all around.

Kicked the wife's car out and have been in there ever since. My garage is 22'X24'. You can just squeeze around to get to the other side. No more scraping ice off the windows in the winter. I almost don't want to take my baby out anymore:D :D :D
