Mine goes in the garage every night. I wasn't sure if it would fit or not when I bought it, that was the only question I had against buying a long bed. There would be plenty of room if the washer and dryer were not in the garage in front of my side.

The washer took a couple of beatings the first couple of times until I hung a tennis ball from the ceiling to the windshield to let me know when to stop. Those Maytags are pretty tough:D .

Mine barely fits. Too much junk, too little garage.

Besides, it's freakin cold outside. My baby sat outside at work for 13 hours yesterday @ 14 degrees, but she lit right up when it was time to go. :D

Plugged it in for the 1st time tonight. Just wanted to see what the temp gauge does in the morning. Hate to think what the electric bill would do if i did it all the time.

I made sure this new one fit in the garage before I bought it. My 2000 had $3300 in hail damage last spring because it would not fit in the garage and was sitting outside. When it started hailing I was home and was going to at least pull it part of the way in the garage but the size of the hail was bigger than a golf ball and I was afraid I would get killed trying to pull it in the garage. The new one goes in every time I come home :D

The dually fits on the 2-car side of our garage with about 2-3" to spare front-to-back. The Acura fits on the 1-car side, and my wife's Durango sits outside. That causes some not-so-pleasant comments every now and then! :(

Have you thought about using those 4 foot wide hollow core concrete beams for your top floor? You set them in place with a good size fork lift or a small crane ($ 200) per hour) . Talk to your local concrete company for suggestions and price. My brother used them over the top of his basement and parks two cars on them in his upstairs garage. Unless you want a real smooth floor you don't have to pour concrete on top of them.

I wish !!!!!!!!

House with attached garage is not the best place to overnight our trucks, besides, when you hit the starter in the morning, everyone is awake.

Next home we buy, "I want shelter for my truck" will be high on the list of wants.

Garage? Whats that????

Neither mine nor my Mom's has ever been in a garage. Mine won't fit in to many places since it is almost 9 feet tall and almost 9 feet wide:eek:

I knew I was going to buy the truck, but the house had to come first... so I had two main items that the house had to have - 1) Big enough garage to house the truck in the future - 2) A room big enough to build remote control airplanes and store them. I actually have some decent room height and depth, but width is narrow if I had another car in the garage, but it houses my trailer that I pull my airplanes with. Being single has it's benifits...

I measured the truck before I paid. Then measured my garage. then bought my Quad cab SWB and its always in the garage except when its on the road.

Mine used to fit just fine before I put my lumber rack on it, now it's too tall.

Of course when it did fit, I had about 6" between front bumper and the garage door.....

Mine fits along with the wife's blazer and the woodshop in the third bay. Its close for height with a 7' door and about 1 1/2' front and back. Still room for the tool box and the beergerator:D but thats about it. It doesnt matter how big you build them, theyre still not big enough. Mines 32x24 should have went 40x30

Mine just fit fine until I got my new plow. Then ended up taking work bench out to fit truck in with plow on it. It all goes in as one unit now so I don't have to hookup plow every time I use it. :D

2wd QC LB fits with about 4' extra in the front and 3' extra in the rear. Fits next the wifes '99 Taurus as long as she parks it right

Anybody know if I can add a block heater (not installed as a factory option)???

How long is a Quad Cab, with an 8' bed.

I think I measured 21'.

I never had a garage, how much room do I want in front and behind my truck when I am parked? I guess 2' in front, and 3' in the back is enough room to walk around it.

I think I will go with 26' deep inside (28 outside) measurement (21 block, no cutting ;) )

Got mine parked in garage, but its barely long enough (have about a foot to spare). The car is parked outside. I have seen that tennis ball idea. I just have a heavy string hang down. KL

Wesoule, my 2002 (February 2002 build date) came with a block heater standard. On mine, when you open the hood the end of the cord is located between the radiator and the passenger side headlight. KL
