I have a neighbors truck in to fix KDP. We needed a crank seal with wear sleeve, so I did not get the TST kit. At one time, there was a guy that sold just the tab. Anyone know who that is? I did not want to make one out of a fender washer. I see that Cummins has a dowel pin tab with part number 1400182. Is that what I need? Thanks.

I made mine out of a piece of scrap aluminum. Nothing wrong with a DIY tab. It's not like there is any pressure being exerted on it.

BTW Gary how is the G56 swap coming???

Waiting on my welder friend to mod a crossmember for me. When that is finished we'll do the swap, then have the driveshaft shortened. If he can't get to it before I return from MT I'll find another shop. Unfortunately, I don't know another welder that I trust.

I tabbed my first two with tabs made from old sawzall blades and had the gearcase off another so I just welded over the hole on that one.

Thanks Bob V. I was at Cummins this morning, but partsman was not aware of a tab for the dowel pin. The part number will be a big help.

I used the TST Dowel Pin Repair Kit for 89-93 or 99-02 and at the same time I used Pete Goulds repair kit for the vacuum pump leak repair and both kits worked just great! I haven't had a problem with either since. I did have a big starter problem and repaired it through Larry B's which was well worth the money in advise and service.

The seal costs about $42 at Carquest, so the TST kit is a good deal. I have never used the sleeve. If there is wear, you can install the new seal to a different depth in the cover so it rides on a fresh place on the crank nose.

so, the TST kit Dowel Pin Repair Kit for 89-93 or 99-02 when read says nothing about 99-02 24v's, recently had my truck in for injectors and I do have a oil leak, the performance mechanic was talking about this being a one day job but reading the posts I think it's something a local mechanic could do, especially with the directions (I'm not mechanical enough to do it myself)

I emailed TST with my question the TST kit Dowel Pin Repair Kit for 89-93 or 99-02 when read says nothing about 99-02 24v's

Do I need to get this kit and get it done on my 01' 3500 QC dually 4X4 with 200k miles?

thanks guys, I've alway gotten good advice here

after visiting with HBarlow I had 275 marine injectors installed, I absolutely love them, I run my edge on #1 and after a couple thousand miles it appears my mileage is up between 1 and 2 mpg
