tdr discounts
As we all know especially from Robin's post, TDR and Geno's go hand and hand. There is no need to advertise that. Please understand that when a company says that you will get a discount for being a TDR member, its a good way of advertising their business/product. By putting the word out there whether in print, online, or word of mouth, a company usually drums up business from this.
I would hope for the TDR's sake and ours as subscribers that the company offering the discount would also run a print or online ad with the TDR. I realize that this may not always be the case. Typically, it's the ads that subsidize the print and online media. If you had to add up the costs involved for the print magazine as well as the website's costs (bandwidth, hosting, design, forums, domain registration, etc), the yearly subscription fee won't cover it all.
Yes, I too like a discount, but also have saved hundreds of $$ because of advice from this website, magazine, and users over the last ten years that I have owned my CTD. A prime example is the fact that it was fifty dollars to fix my KDP, much better than the alternative had I not been made aware of this problem by the TDR. Thanks to all of you who make the TDR (and Geno's) what it is.
Just my 2 cents.
