2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wider Brake Shoes????

A while back I thought I read something about running 3" Brake shoes on back. I have had no luck Searching, does anyone no the details?

i run 3" on my 97 2500, but i think i had to put on 1 ton drums that are made for 3", i think thats about it got all my stuff from advanced auto.

My '01 2500 has 3" shoes in the rear. To use the '01 or a one ton on your truck you'll want to measure the distance between the hub flange and the backing plate to see if the wider drum will fit.
