smaller diesel rigs???? I mean I love diesels - but not sure the general public does - to the point that they will spend a huge difference on fuel to get higher mileage..... and all the perceived annoyances from diesels. Now most of you guys aren't getting screwed as bad as we are here in Blue State Land by having to pay over $. 80 ABOVE REG GAS! Me Thinks if that stays - the new rash of small diesels will be in jeopardy... ... .

I was just thinking of that yesterday on the way home from work. We're paying $1. 95 here in the Baltimore, MD area. Not as bad as folks in the West, but close to or higher than high octane gas. With the better mileage of the diesel vs gasser, I'm still happy, but I think it may turn new buyers away, especially those unfamiliar with the benifits of diesel over gas.

What also bums me out is that law, which gives a tax incentive for bio-diesel, that President Bush signed went into effect in January, and there still doesn't seem to be much effort to push bio-diesel or even lower the price.

The cost of Diesel VS Gas drops the fuel milage advantage over gas For Me. And why should we (Diesel pickup owners) have to pay the road tax that was started for 18 wheelers? I think this will be my last Diesel,If the fuel prices stay so much higer than gas. Just my Opinion!

I hate to say it, but I'm in the same boat. . I'm already looking at gas powered mini trucks. I need a pickup but I don't tow any more, and the cost of diesel is just insane.

Just paid $2. 19 here in San Diego at an independent station. Major chains are charging $2. 29+. The only thing saving me is that my 99 CTD is paid for. Hawaii in Nov. 04 was $3. 02 for diesel but $2. 18 for reg. gas. I couldn't believe the popularity of Dodge CTD's on Kona and also many Fords. Very few Chevys though.

BajaBob, the best price after shopping around Is $2:40 a gallon,And going up. Here in central Cal. I think I will sell my 03 this summer, Unless the Diesel fuel price drops down

below about $1:75. But I dont think it will.

David Munch, Nice web site. Is your 03 black or a dark grey? Mine Is Black with a lot of bells and whistles, Some I havent listed yet.

The price of diesel goes up past gas for a few months and you guys are ready to bail out :-laf . I've owned a diesel for the last 14 years and most of that time diesel has been cheaper or equal to reg unleaded. 2 summers ago diesel was higher, last summer diesel was lower. Now, take into account the mileage difference between a V10 or hemi and a CTD and do the math. I think you'll find it cheaper to fuel the CTD unless you're one of few guys getting poor mileage.

BTW, I hate these high prices, too.
