I've got waterspots on my windshield. I suspect it was washed at the dlrs occasionally and the water dried in the sun. I always pull it into the garage to dry it so I'm sure I didn't do it.

Anybody got ant suggestions for removing the spots? I usually use Invisible Glass and it does a good job but won't remove the spots. Any ideas?

I had water spots on a dakota that were so bad nothing I tried would take them off, so I took it back to dealer and they removed them. Sorry I didnt ask them how they did it but its something to consider.

I personally have gotten the best results when using steel wool. This will remove water spots and any other debris such as sap, tar and bug splats.

Make sure you use the high grit steel wool. I think its between 1200 and 1500 grit.

BTW, this also works great on chrome surfaces.

I used a blue fiber chore pad that I found in the dish soap

isle at the market. I works real good with a good window cleaner

and rubbing in circles keeping the glass real wet.

I'll add to Sam and Kens reply. I use steel wool too but I use an SOS pad. I agree with another and to keep it wet when using it.

Go to www.ipdusa.com

In the search box type in - water spot remover.

For a description click on blue words - auto glass water spot remover.

I've used this product for years. Found it when I had an old car with horrible water spots that nothing would touch.

Product #WS47600 - $12. 95 - 1 Pint. Will last a very long time.

I have used CLR and lime away on my windows as well as the paint on my old truck. It didnt seem to harm the finish any, but I made sure to immediately wash and wax after.

I have seen auto glass guys get water spots off by running a razor blade across them as you would removing sticker residue. I have also removed spots that regular washing and glass cleaner wouldn't get off.

The SOS did the job! I'm now thinking the water spots may be left from when *I* wash the truck. The camper windows are spotted also and I just had that put on last week.

Now if I can get the water spots off the paint. Does everybody put something into their water? I've just been using straight water.
