GM I-4 Timing Chain question

2004 Durango RT with Hemi

The power steering pump on my winter car (1990 Buick LeSabre) has started making a groaning noise. I checked the fluid and the level was OK but it was foaming a bit. Is my pump bad? I could also have a leak as I noticed a small oil spot on the garage floor a couple days ago in the area under the pump.

Dave try sucking out as much fluid as you can with a turkey baster and replacing it with Valvoline Syn-Power PS fluid. It very well could cure your problem and will only cost $5. Sounds like your pump is just having a hard time pumping the cold thickened fluid in there now.

Thanks, Bill. I'll try that and it won't cost me much since I already have some fluid from when I changed my power steering gasket on the Ram. Oo. Oo.
