Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Winterize Question

Ok, back on my newbie question box (and if there is an existing thread already about this,please point me in the right direction and I'll refere to it).



I've learned alot since I bought my CTD 6 or so months ago, but this is my first winter (and I use that term loosely since I live in centeral Texas) and I just wanted to ask if there is anything in particular I need to do differently in the winter.



I know you guys up north use winter fuel and additives, etc. , but is that something we need down here too? We don't have many days below 30 degrees here so I may not need to worry much about winterizing, but I wanted to make sure, so if any of you southern boys want to chime in and give me advice on what to do differently in the winter, I would certainly appreciate it... ...

Geez, I don't think you'd have too many worries at those temps. If I never saw temps below the low twenties to upper teens I sure wouldn't worry about winter fuel. Use an additive if you'd like, but I really wouldn't worry about any anti-gel properties. I run straight #2 with a winterizing addivitive.



You may want to put on a winter front to help the cab warm up quicker.



We hit ten below zero in October!

yeah, thats what I thought too, 10 below huh? thats a little chilly, but man I would brave those temps for the beautiful country you guys have up there.....
