Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this...

My wiper washer light came on and I filled the reservoir with fluid. (it was a regular brand - nothing special)

However, now every time I cold start the truck - the light comes on until I warm start it 2 or 3 times - then the light stays off. Sometimes the light will go off while driving after the second start when the engine is warm.

I haven't checked the wire to the sensor in the reservoir and I don't know if the sensor tip inside the reservoir can get a film on it or if there is some other potential issue.

Anyone have a suggestion?

I used a baby bottle cleaning brush taped to a thin metal rod and slipped it down into the filler neck opening. Then I managed to brush up and down and twist it around - and ever since = no light!

I had to clean the probe on my 02 VW Jetta a couple times a year for while, but then it was good for a long time. I only use the same kind a washer fluid, Rain-X, but maybe they reformulated it at one point... or it's just a thing that needs to happen.
