I have bought my first DODGE in 1962 Then got crazy and bought a 77 460 furd that was JUNK 1 year traded for a Dodge then in 88 bought a CHV Broville van that was very good 350 got good mileage keep it 2 years then went back to DODGES. I will drive then as long as I can get one. If not it would be a CHV. Not no d-- Jap car or truck. Your money goes to Japan it does not us one D__ bit of good here.

That's odd. I wonder how the Japanese get all of those Americans to work all in the Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and other factories here in the US without paying them in US dollars?

Last time I checked the Japanese built cars, trucks, motorcycles, offroad and outdoor products, and many other things right here on US soil paying American workers to do the work.

My wife and I have Toyota cars, which were built in Georgetown, Kentucky. Last I remember, Kentucky is still in the USA.

When Furd and GM make a car as good as a Toyota or Honda, I may consider one.

I served in Japan while in the military and I have to say, I have a lot of respect for the Japanese people.

True but the profits flow back to Japan and some the components come from Japan. There's a lot of clever accounting to minimize the taxes paid here and abroad too. Still, being made or assembled here creates a lot of jobs & economic activity which is a good thing.

I really like my Dodge, but the Cummins is the real selling point. If there was no Cummins I'd probably buy a medium duty International with a DT466 in it. I wouldn't even consider a V8 diesel. I agree with an earlier poster who said something about Ford using 5. 9 Cummins motors in their heavier trucks. To me that is an admission of having an inferior diesel engine in your pickups. I haven't had any experience with the other brands to speak about the quality of their trucks, I'm just glad that this whole scenario isn't reality.

Dodge with a Cummins is the best of both worlds.

i looked at the middle duty fords, then ford discontinued fitting the cummins in them.

i waited a couple more years, b4 i bought.

i liked the ford better, the seat fit better and was more comfortable, hated the engine and the price tag.

dodge had the cummins and for the difference in price, i could up fit the rear to a air ride, re-fit the seats and add a few assys for the difference in price.

do i like my truck... . yes... . am i happy with it... . yes. . with the exception of needing to have the seats done again.

would i buy another dodge or chevy..... 'no'.....

(i had a chevy that was a lemon, factory wouldn't do anything about it).

and 'yes' ... . i plan on keeping my dodge until the body falls off the frame... ...

by then i should have the project truck running...

Not necessarily. The profits flow back to whoever owns the shares of stock in the company. Corporation headquarters may be in Japan but shareholders can be anywhere including Toledo, OH or Detroit, MI.

Do you think so-called American cars use 100% American made parts? If so, you are badly mistaken.
