Steve, I read up on the proceedure to attempt to reset the file system back and decided for now to replace the 80gb w/ a another new 160gb. That was faster and I didn't run the risk of screwing up the other hd and op system install. Everything is working good now w 320gbs internal and 500 gb external. Iam going to wipe and reformat both 80's and put them in the wife's pc.
