I recently purchased the street double disk with 3250# plate with this 12CB per disk. I think timing is good as it appears they went though a second revision of this design with the stiffer springs (plastic looking things?) in the clutch discs.
Lets start with the old? This would be the second revision of the ConFE if I'm not mistaken. I've had this clutch installed shortly after I ventured up to the HotJuice program. This was when the truck was about 45,000 miles old. It was grabby in 2nd or revers and had a slight vibration to it. Something about it wasn't right, but didn't pose any problems. But it was a "race clutch" for a single disk ya know. At 113,000 miles and 600hp and most likely over 1300# of torque I've finally found it's limit. This clutch had about on average 20 hard 2nd gear launches every 6 months (street and strip runs). used 1st (creaper) 99. 999% from a dead stop, so it was rarely slipped. In my opionion, if you stayed with in the limits of the advertised power, and didn't tow, or didn't mind slipping it to back up a trailer to avoid the jerkyness. Awesome clutch. I'm sure the prices have come down now bit time on this one. I very much enjoyed this starter clutch upgrade.
Pressure plate side. . Virtually noware.

Flywheel side. A little eaten up! BTW, the springs in the clutch were not loose the slightest, unlike my stock ones, just about fell out of hte disk.

Pressure plate got a little warm here and there. I suspect this is around the time I was able to slip it. Maybe that attempt at a 3rd gear burn out did the most damage?

I think we can fill in the grooves with some JB weld. It's shame cuz the pressure plate side had some meat left. too bad these flywheels just are so soft.

Rear main isn't leaking. That dirt in there was dust + some oil from a failed install of the valve cover a while back.

5. 5 hours to install the DD. I got a good deal even tho I was in a rush. (inability to go over 60-70 is a bad thing. And I do have some trips to make to Owatonna next week
$450 for the labor.
Everything went in text book. The only thing the mechanic didn't do right was efficiently take out the interior to pull the shifter out. He was a younger kid, can't know everything right?
Made in the correct country.

Ride? damn thing feels like stock clutch!!!! Smooth. zero grabbyness.
Noise? yeah, there's a little "metal on metal" kinda howl. very slight, can hardly hear it with the windows up. I kinda like it! At idle there's a little rattle, not a big deal. I suppose high-idle, if your going to idle things, is important now.
If anyone wants my old clutch and/or flywheel for any reason, let me know. I'll let it go cheap
