My 305/555 stock lift pump makes 8-9 pounds at idle and 2-3 pounds at wide open throttle, full load. I've seen it once or twice around 0-1 pound. 80,000 miles, original pump.
 
I just installed a Westach 0-16 lb fuel pressure gauge. I used a tapped banjo bolt and tapped off of the CP3 where the input line goes in. I'm seeing 5 lbs at idle. I haven't driven it yet, but does that's a lower idle number than others are seeing? I'm running 18 ga wire from the sender to the gauge. Would that throw off the reading? The instructions say to you 20-22 ga wire.

No, the wire wouldn't throw off the reading. You might need to change your filter, though. Mine only put out abut 7-8, when it was stock.
 
Filter is pretty new. It only has about 2000 miles on it. Guess I'll replace it anyway to see if it makes a difference.

I have an 02 HO (305hp) with 80K on it and original lift pump. Before relocating the lift pump to the frame rail, I was getting 11lbs before filter and 10lbs after filter with the engine idling. After relocating the lift pump (Geno's garage kit), I am getting 15lbs before filter and 13lbs after filter. At wide open throttle the after filter pressure never gets below 10 lbs. A footnote and good news is that before relocating the lift pump (pump on side of engine) I was getting a injector knock at wide open throttle and the pressure was pulling down to 3 lbs. Hope this information is of some help.
