okay Im tired of cleaning and oiling. call me lazy. I have a stage 2 7 layer afe. I dont know the size. I would like to keep the rest of the kit just replace the filter with a dry one I know AFE makes them as well as other filters. so what would be the cheapest replacement filter that is dry. has anyone done this and kept the stage 2 setup. or how does the the dry afe hold up. or if amsoil makes one this size etc etc. thanks

Flow is more important to me and I cant seem to get any numbers from any manufacturers. My next filter is gonna be a Volant box and tube with a Amsoil filter. I trust Amsoil to take flow into consideration with their dry filters. They do have an app to fit AFE also.

Can you tell me what Amsoil filter fits the Volant box? Is it a dry (paper) style? I too would like a quality airbox like the Volant but a throw-away paper element for a filter. . . would be nice if someone came up with an airbox that takes the BHAF.

filter amsoil

we have alot of amsoil reps on tdr maybe they can chime in on part number for replacements. try to call amsoil tomorrow

Their isnt one that fits it exactly but I think once I get the Volant in my hands I will find one to MAKE work. The Volant has a 5" inlet filter and the Amsoils jump from 4. 75 to 6".

On my 12v in back to back dyno runs the AFE Stage 2 Inverted Top(or Mega-Cannon as many call it) was the best for power. The Pro-Guard 7 was next and the AFE Dry was the worst at 13hp less than the Mega-Cannon.

Now with that said I do like the dry filters ease of cleaning and how well it works during the winter months which is when I use it. The road salt dust at times can be very bad during the winter months and I run it because of how easy it cleans up. Nice filter just not one for those seeking all out performance... ..... Andy

AFE was very helpful to me when I called them and asked the cfm ratings for the filters I had numbers for. Seems like the stage 2 filter with the 6" opening was the best, unless you get into some of their stuff that's not sold in kits.
