The logic continues to astound me. They've had unprecedented trouble with an engine made by an otherwise reliable engine manufacturer, and so they think going in-house will make things better. It always make me think of that saying "you're the only common link in all of your failed relationships. " I see they chose to go with a 6. 7, perhaps they're hoping for a little faith-by-association . . .
ford has turned out some fine diesel engines over the years, i hope this one is no exception. i left ford because of the issues the 6. 0 engines were having in 03/04, i hope the aluminum heads this new engine is suppose to have dosent present any issues.
In fact I don't know of any good gas engines furd has ever had.

The 300 was quite possibly the best I6 gasser ever in a pickup.
I am guessing your post is purely jest. Ford has had a few great gassers... 352, 428 included

ford did their homework on this engine. the 6. 4 was 15% over engineered and matt at sparten diesel performance, the guy who designed the engine just put down an 11. 44 sec pass on nitrous with a stock truck and transmission. The new 6. 7 scorpion is 275% over engineered. When i buy my new truck its going to be between the cummins and the scorpion. also matt already has tunes ready for that truck and word is he is making tunes for the cummins engines as well.
well lets see. there's the 6. 6 and 7. 8 engine built in fords brazilian plant for the tractors and medium fords. there quite a few 3 and 4 cylinder tractor engines of various sizes , that were very good engines as well. tell me, how many tractors, did chrysler produce. what about diesel engines? when was the last time they even produced a medium truck?
