A loving husband !!

He he, I've got lots of stuff, but they're my toys, and I'm selfish!

Anyway, the Glock 30 is an excellent firearm. I've fired many, and other than various trigger pulls, they all shot excellent. I'm, personally, not a Glock fan. Several years ago, the Glock 22 came out, and if you read carfully, they are not to be used with high pressure ammunition. A close friend of mine had one explode in his hand. The ammo was found to blame, but it still didn't help him regain control of his hand when they got it sewn back together. Now the . 45 calibers are supposed to be fully capable of handling full pressure, +P loadings, and I've never seen or heard of any problems with them; only the 22s in . 40 S&W. For the price, he stole it, if it has the Laserlyte guide rod laser. Those list for just over $300, plus the price of the handgun. Good job!! Have fun shooting it, you'll probably love it. I don't like to carry without a hammer let down, but that's my preference. If you can find some ball loads, say 230gr FMJ target loads, or Winchester WinClean ammo, you'll probably find recoil a little more manageable. Typically, 185 JHPs are loaded a little hotter for self defense or hunting ammo, and the recoil can be, but is not always, a little hotter than plinking or target loads. Practice, practice, and congrats on getting your CCW permit.

God bless,

Casey

OOps,, that's right Arnold!! The laserlyte brand is a cheaper brand of laser's for rear sights and trigger guard placement. LaserMax is the brand that goes in the guide rod!! Love those things!! The crimson trace grip lasers run a close second, and are quite a bit cheaper, but not near as nice!!

40030 - Glock 29 & 30 Laser Sight, Warranty Guide rod laser price just over $300. Seems I can't get them from Brownells anymore...

i like mine, its performance on bowling pins reminds me of me 38 super

There's been about 8 boxes of . 357 SIG at the local Wallyworld for weeks now. I might have to buy a . 357 SIG barrel for my XD40 so someone can use that ammo!:D

All this talk has inspired me to go back and do another pistol cert and get my Ct carry permit. (I had let mine expire about 6 years ago so gotta start over)

Thanks guys!

that'll give you enough brass to reload :D i was able to cobble up a conversion for my dillon 650 from my other conversion kits, all i needed was a toolhead and dies, if you or anybody else decides to load the 357 sig make sure you have a good strong crimp as setback can be really bad with such a high pressure round, make up a few dummy rounds without powder and see if you can get shove the bullet into the case with your thumb without really hurting yourself, nice deep roll crimp

Yeah, I don't know what kind of dies you're using, but sounds like you have a set of Hornady or lyman. I've used many of them, and had similar problems. If you'll go with the RCBS Carbide dies, or Redding, you shouldn't have any problems if you can get them set right. I've got a Dillon 650, too, and I haven't had any problems with it crimping bullets, if the right dies are used. I really have to have a good crimp on my . 357s, . 45s, 45-70s, . 44mag, 38-40s, and . 44-40s for use in lever or pump action rifles. Tubular magazines will test any bullet crimp!! As far as the . 357sig, I've thoroughly enjoyed mine, as well as the Texas DPS, who carry it as their issue weapon. I haven't carried mine much, but when it's with me, I don't worry about function or performance!!

And I don't know how much you reload, but always check you dies. They will wear out, even the carbides, in time.

God bless,

Casey

they are dillon dies which i like quite a bit, nice and easy to pop the seating slug out without tools to clean and the spring loaded decapping die is handy too, i havent had any problems because i did my homework and did some testing before loading live rounds, i was just giving a tip or two for any newbies that may decide to reload 357sig :D
