I am looking for an exploded view of front axle for 2002 4wd, abs without the vacum assist. If someone has a scan or link to one that would be great! Bearings need to be replaced #@$%!#@$%!, wondering what components will need to be purchased.

Recently did ujoints and wheel bearings on an 02 2500. It did not have axle disconnect... so I think it is same as 03 aam axle.

I am considering changing to lockouts, haven't made up my mind yet. If I am going to have everything apart to begin with, the U joints have about 215K on them so they should be done also before they fail, cause you know they will 2weeks later. I am considering the Spyntec Conversion.

I need to make up my mind so I can get stuff orderd and be back on the road this weekend :confused::confused:

I am open to opinions for the next 24hrs.

Auto part stores have them on their computer. If you purchase the parts from them, they will usually print them out for you. Which bearings went out?

Another option to the Spyntec it is to salvage Ford spindles, stub axles, and lockout hubs. You will have to take them to a machine shop to knock off the lip on the wheel mounting surface. You will also have to drill 5 holes in your existing outer knuckes for the ford spindles. If you can source a set of 3rd gen outer knuckls, you can do the same, but you could run larger 3rd gen brake rotors and calipers. That way you get lockouts, better hub bearings, larger brakes, and all for about half what a spyntec would cost.

This option gives you many options in the future. you could change out the spider gears in the carrier and upgrade to 35 spline axles. Or you could install a Lock-right locker, 32 or 35 spline, and not have any adverse driving on the road, due to your ability to unlock your hubs for everyday driving on the street. I am in the middle of this project myself. Hope this helps
