wheel spacer for the front ...

I know you can't just bolt a 3rd gen drw rim on the rear srw axle ...

is there a rim that can be ordered to allow a dually rim to mount on a 2500 axle?

not worried about body issues ... gonna remove the factory bed and put a dump on ...

There was a member that did just the oposite a few years ago ~ turned a dually into a SRW. Seems to me like it was pretty straight forward. The axle was the same but the dually uses a spacer (maybe the spacer was on the front?) and of course, different wheels. The bed is the same except the wheel wells are cut out for clearance.

Go to the RV.net 5th wheel forum or to the truck camper forum. They have a discussion going about that now.

The DRW axle is about 3" narrower. I believe if you go with a dually wheels you will need spacers to clear the springs, I could be wrong. It has been awhile since I have read up on this. I have a DRW and went to a SRW. I know the front axles are the same, the dually just has the offset for the wheel bolted on.

thanks guys ...

was asking for brother in law ...

he machined the rotor to 12 3/4" and used a 2002 ford rear caliper ...

no other mods needed

I just did this about 2 years ago. I simply swapped a dually axle in place of the SRW axle. The dually is ~3" narrower than the SRW. Everything was an exact match for a simple swap. The front will need the spacer for the dually wheel. Good Luck, Trey

I saw a long bed Dodge truck with the duallyfenders kit for the MegaCab, it really looked awesome. He did a little fiberglass work where the cutout is for the fuel door since the fuel door is more fwd on the long bed. Like I said, awesome looking truck with the Mega fenders.

Years ago I did the Arrowcraft kit on a Ford. It was a good kit, looked great when it was done. Sure is cheaper than buying a new truck if you decide you want a dualie.
